Sturdy Box with Punched Ribbon Slider Lid

I am really pleased to share this gorgeous and sturdy box which I have designed, and which features a Punched Ribbon Slider Lid to hold the contents securely in place.

I love the contrast of colours with the black base, which makes it a very stiking and contemporary looking box.

The ribbon slider for the lid was punched using the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch.  Its neat and petite, so not too obtrusive.

I love using my stamps as opposed to decorative papers (just my personal preference). So I broke open my Flower Shop stamp set and stamped in Black Stazon in all over the entire piece of cardstock.

The addition of the punched flower, punched with the co-ordinating Pansy Punch just adds style and pizzazz !

The stamp set and punch are available separately.  However purchase them as a bundle and you will save 15% !

I do hope you like this box as much I do.

Here is my video tutorial with instructions on how to put one together.

Happy Birthday Mum !

Well I had lovely day with my lovely mum yesterday.  It was her birthday !

She loves to receive handmade cards, so I came up with something pretty and feminine which just about sums her perfectly !

I chose to layer Whisper White and Pool Party cardstock and used my co-ordinating Pool Party Classic Stampin' Pad to complete the monochrome theme.

I used my Ovals Collection Framelits dies to die cut and layer the centre of the card.

I used an assortment of stamps - Watercolour Wings, Awesomely Artisitic and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.   The word "Mum" is the only non Stampin' Up! product.

The beautiful butterfly die-cut is from the Butterflies Thinlets Die set, which I embellished with pretty pearls.

I completed my card with the addition of a pretty bow in Whisper White Seam Binding Ribbon.

Well mum loved it - and I hope you do too.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Curvy Corner Trio Punch

Here is a little Curvy Corner Trio for you !!

I am always one to look at other ways with which to use my tools.  I recently invested in the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch, because I thought it would be really useful for creating ribbon slides and for punching decorative corners on my cards.

But then it struck me that I could also utilise it for enhancing various box styles too !

So I have created this pretty box with an unusual closure.  The delicately punched detail around the lid makes this box so very pretty and something a little bit different.

This one is a great size too.

It uses an A4 sheet of cardstock (8 1/4" x 11 3/4")

Long side:
Score @  2 3/4,   5 1/2, 8 1/4 and 11 inches
notch @ 1 3/8, 4 1/8, 6 7/8, 9 5/8 inches

Short side:
Score @ 2 3/4 and 6 inches

Decorative strip
7 1/2 x 2 inches
Draw Lines on Long side @ 2 1/2 and 5 inches
Notch @ 1 1/4, 3 3/4 and 6 1/4 inches

Instructions for creating it are here on my video tutorial.  Hope you like it.

Gorgeous Luminaire

So here is a stunning Christmas project created in vellum and heat embossed in silver.

How pretty is that ?

I am so pleased with of this beautiful Luminaire.   Really - it can be created in next to no time, yet looks so intricate and pretty.

Stampin' Up! vellum is just beautiful - fine yet thick and sturdy.   It lends itself perfectly to heat embossing.

Everybody should have the Lovely as a Tree stamp set in their collection.  Perfect for creating a pretty wintery backdrop.

Add a faux tealight and "Bob's your Uncle! !!!!

Ho Ho Ho !!

Today I am re-visiting a post which was originally posted a couple of months ago - as I have now made a video tutorial showing you how to create a similar Santa Treat Box to the one shown below, using the Envelope Punch Board.

Christmas is a little way off - but that has not put me off thinking of more fun packaging for those little Christmas treats.

I assembled my punches and dies and came up with this cheerful little chappy !!!!!!

The Moustache die is now sadly retired, but you could very easily improvise, as I have with the one in my video tutorial below.  In the video I use my Bird Builder Punch to create a cute alternative little moustache and the 7/8 Circle Punch for the belt buckle.

I used my 1 3/4 and 2 3/8 inch Scallop Circle punches for Santa's beard and hair and my 2 1/2 inch Circle Punch for his face.  I also used the little 7/8 inch Scallop Circle Punch for the pom pom on his hat which is simple a triangle scored at an angle.I even gave him some eyebrows using a weeny retired punch, which I also used for his buttons. You could fashion eyebrows by using little circle punches and punching out little crescent shapes (like tiny crescent moons) as demonstrated in my video.

Santa's boots are made using the Extra Large Oval Punch http://www2.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=119859&dbwsdemoid=5010208.

Crafting is all about improvising with what you have sometimes and should be fun, inventive and creative.

This is my new video tutorial, which I do hope you enjoy:

Super sturdy Tealights Box

My quest for creating sturdy boxes continues...

This little box holds four scented tealights.  Its super strong.  Turn it upside down, shake it about and it remains firmly closed.  The little ribbon tab makes it nice and easy to open,

I used Soft Sky cardstock, ink and DSP for this project (and not Pool Party as stated in the video tutorial - sorry about that !).

I also used the Beautiful Bunch Bundle which includes the co-ordinating Fun Flower Punch (purchased together as a bundle will save you 15%).  The stamp set and the punch can also be purchased separately.  I decided to use the very simple stamp from the set which details the centre of the flower.  The simplicity of that little stamp and the punched flower is a stunning centrepiece for the box.

This video shows you how to make it:

Hope you like this project.   Thank you for stopping by today.

Lovely as a Tree Treat Box

I have a love of chocolate - in fact I am addicted !!

I love to share my love of chocolate (well it would be rude not to), particularly at Christmas, and I have designed this super sturdy treat box to hold three Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

These boxes are perfect as Dinner Party box treats for your guests or even for hanging on your Christmas Tree.

I adore Gold and Silver embossing and the richness of the Gold heat embossed onto beautiful Blackberry Bliss cardstock is particular striking, coupled with the additional beautiful rhinestone embellishments for that extra bit of bling.

The Lovely as a Tree stamp set was absolutely perfect for this box design.

These would also make great gift boxes for Nail Varnish gifts !! (my wonderful and supportive husband's suggestion - love you Dave xxx)

Here is my video tutorial :

Cute Ice Cube Box with Pull-Out Drawer

Well with a snow flake theme - I had to call this project my Ice Cube Box !!

This beautiful sturdy little project can be used as a gorgeous gift box or as a stackable storage box. I can see many possibilities for it.  Silver embossed with pretty snow flakes using my Flurry of Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set, this is an ideal Christmas Gift Box, making a small Christmas Present extra special.

Please note that Flurry of Wishes is also available as a "Bundle" which includes the co-ordinating Snow Flurry Punch.  Separately they retail at £ £19 and £16 respectively.  Bought as a "Bundle" they total £29.75 (saving you 15%).

The pull-out drawer construction coupled with double layering gives the cube added strength.  I used Silver 1/8" ribbon trim on the drawer..

I loved it so much I have also created a storage tower by stacking three of the completed boxes on top of each other and adhering together using very strong double-sided tape.

I adhered a piece of 3 1/2" x  7  5/8 " cardstock to the back which I scored at 1/2" on the short side, flipped and scored again at 1/2" on the short side.   I then stuck panels to the sides which meadured 2  1/2 "  x 7  5/8".   Before sticking the sides I embossed lines around each edge.

Then I cut a small square measuring 2  3/4" x 2  3/4",  and embossed lines around each edge.  This was then adhered to the top.

I hope you enjoy this instructional video showing you how to construct the box:

Gold Embossed Vellum Treatbag

Christmas is coming !! ......and so are some of my Christmas projects !

Here is an early one using the Mini Treatbag Thinlits Die which is currently in our weekly deals at a greatly discounted priceof £27 (usual retail price £36) www2.stampinup.com/ECWeb/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=137547&dbwsdemoid=5010208

From today I will be sending out  little projects to my customers demonstrating the quality of various Stampin' Up! products.

With the run up to Christmas and the demand for the Autumn/Winter catalogs increasing, I am using this opportunity to create some Mini Treat Bags using the the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Die, and embellishing them with some of our Christmas products which feature in both our Annual and our Autumn/Winter catalogs.

This little treatbag has been cut from Vellum cardstock and  heat embossed in Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I have used two different stamp sets which work really well together.   The beautiful trees are stamped using the gorgeous Lovely as a Tree stamp set which features in our Annual catalog.   I used this opportunity to also give a little hint of the beauty of the new Flurry of Wishes stamp set and co-ordinating Snow Flurry Punch which are in the new Autumn/Winter catalog. The sentiment also comes from Flurry of Wishes.

Embellished with little Rhinestone Basic Jewels, this cute little bag is winging its way to my customers along with a free Stampin' Up! product by way of "Thank You" for shopping with me
.
Thank you for stopping by today.
