Book Cards !

I love pop-out cards !    I went through a phase of purely making Cards in Boxes in all types of themes.

A new found love is this variation - Book Cards.  Like this one:

I have used lots of layers and the card feels very robust and substantial.  In Whisper White and Melon Mambo, its simple and understated.

I love the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set - I have had it since I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and it is probably what I would call my "Go To" stamp set, purely for the beautiful vine motif stamped on both the front and inside of my card.

I added die cut flowers from the Botanical Builders Framlits dies on the front cover, intending to mimic an oriental cherry blossom.  The flowers have been adhered to the white heat embossed stamped image and simply embellished with rhinestone gems.  The sentiment on the front comes from the new Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I think the font is exceptionally pretty.

The quote on the inside left-hand panel is from a retired stamp set called Moon Lake.

The sentiment on the inside comes from the set All Boxed Up!   I used my MISTI to add a bit of the vine to that and am really happy with the result.

So this style of card has become my latest little fad.   I just love it.  Hope you do too.

I stumbled across instructions for this style of card from Deb Valder on You Tube.   This is her instructional video:

Her version and my one are completely in different size but the methodology in creating them is demonstrated in her video.

I have been busy creating smaller versions of these cards to fit a standard C6 Envelope and if you visit me next week, I will have a C6 card and a video tutorial for you.

Thank you very much for stopping by today.

Happy Sunday!!

Love is in the air - A little Botanical Blooms Home Decor !

I am completely in love with Botanical Blooms.   I always get excited by products that can be so much more than just a pretty addition to say a card or a box.

Thoughts turned to Valentine's Day today, as its the next big thing on the calendar - well it is for me anyway !

I had this cute little wicker heart lying around in my room for some while now and have been wondering what to do with it.   So - I ran off some exotic blooms and leaves from my Botanical Builders Framelits on my Big Shot, and simply assembled and glued them to my little heart with my glue gun, and added a little pink bow. Now this cute little creation is hanging prettily in my little Crafty Corner.

I really do believe that me and Botanical Blooms have started a little love affair .................sighs wistfully xxxxx

Thank you for stopping by today.

Sale-A-Bration Chocolate Treat Boxes

Hello and welcome to today's little project:-

These gorgeous treat boxes hold a Galaxy Ripple (my favourite!).

I think they beautifully demonstrate how gorgeous the Botanical Gardens Designer Vellum Stack is and what is even better is that these Designer Series Papers are freebies in the current Sale-A-Bration promotion (see page 4 of the brochure). A PDF of the brochure can be accessed by clicking the Catalogue Tab at the top of my Blog.   So if you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products, these papers are amongst a host of gorgeous free products you can choose from in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.

The detail in these papers is so very pretty.  There are 24 sheets in the pack, 3 each of 8 designs

My simple boxes are one inch square and seven and a half inches long.   The perfect size for a bar of Galaxy Ripple. !!  They fold flat too !!

The sentiment on my boxes is from the super cute and free stamp set Honeycomb Happiness which is also in the Sale-A-Bration brochure (page 15 of the brochure) and is the perfect sentiment for a chocolate tree box.  I heat embossed this in White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I have accented each box with three little flowers punched with the floral punch from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack.

My video tutorial takes you through the process of creating these pretty boxes.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.   I do hope you like my project.

Cute Blooms - Cute Box !!

This is my latest little project.

I have been squirrelled away working on new ideas for boxes.

This little design is a little complex in its construction, but I kind of like it.   What do you think ?   Would you appreciate a tutorial ?   Its definitely a project you would need to set time aside for.  Not a quickie and with lots of different steps.  But I think its pretty special.

Hope you like it too.

In beautiful Pink Pirouette cardstock and adorned with floral and fauna cut from the fantastic Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, the flowers are in Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo and the fern leaves are Pear Pizzazz

Thank you for stopping by today.

Customer Thank You Cards & the MISTI

Our Sale-A-Bration promotion has seen a surge in Customer Orders from people eager to get hold of products from the new 2016 Spring/Summer Catalogue together with the freebies available to choose from in the Sale-A-Bration brochure.  I felt it would be appropriate to pop in a little "Thank You" card along with the usual free products and handmade gifts I send to my customers.

This 3" x 3" inch card is my latest little creation.

I tried the "Masking and Sponging" technique and also used my new MISTI to stamp the darling little flowers just where I wanted them within the sponged area of the card.

I coloured the flowers from the stamp set Serene Silhouettes using my Brights Collection Stampin' Write marker pens and this worked a treat.

I love the finished card in its simplicity.

This video tutorial demonstrates the steps involved in creating it:

Mini Toblerone Treat Box

Today's project is this pretty Mini Toblerone Treat Box.

I have made a large version of this type of box in the past by following a Pootles video tutorial on You Tube.  I love the style of her box.  But I decided to scale it right down to a size suitable to hold two mini Toblerone chocolates and this is my version.

I punched out a pretty closure and added a topper stamped with a sentiment from the stamp set All Boxed Up which suits the project perfectly.   The sentiment was punched out using my Large Oval Punch and then adhered to a layer punched with the Scallop Oval Punch.  This was then adhered with Dimensionals to the centre of the closure and silver ribbon was fed through beneath the topper and tied in a pretty bow to keep the treat box closed.

This is my video tutorial which demonstrates how to create this pretty little package:-

Lantern Box

My daily excursions through Pinterest led me to a Pin of gorgeous Lantern Box created by a fellow paper crafter.

She had used a box die and adapted it to fashion a pretty Lantern Box.   I don't have the die but loved the box, so I set about creating one myself using my own method and this box is the result.

The Box in the photo was made using Soft Sky cardstock and heat embossed White Stampin' Emboss Powder.   I bust open my beautiful new photopoly stamp set Grateful Bunch and also used the co-ordinating new Blossom Bunch Punch (these can be purchased as a bundle, saving you 15% of the total purchase price).

Adorned with pretty pearl embellishments, I hope you will agree that this is a really stunning little box.  I have made the video tutorial to show you how you too can create one.  Why not have a go yourself ?

Picture Perfect !

Hello and welcome to today's little project.

Sometimes you don't need a special occassion to create a card.   Just dropping someone a line is always so much nicer in the form of a pretty card in these days of electronic mail.  With that in mind, I created this Note Card which will be winging its way to a very nice lady.

When I saw the new stamp sets in the new 2016 Spring/Summer Catalogue I just knew I needed the Picture Perfect Photopolymer set.

I featured a project made using the beautiful three step Rose stamp in my last Blog.   This time, I decided to have a play with the gorgeous Humming Bird 4 step stamp.    My new Misti was just perfect, allowing me to stamp with precision.  It made the job so easy.

So I stamped up my little Humming Bird on Soft Sky cardstock using Soft Sky, Pool Party and Black Versafine Inks.

He looked a little lonely, so I dug out an old favourite of mine, my Hopeful Thoughts stamp set and added some pretty leafy detail. Once done, I dry embossed a frame around the edge of the card stock and mounted it on some black.  I added a punched strip of cardstock beneath the black.

I took my Soft Sky card base and again, found another old favourite, the sadly retired large En Francais background stamp which I stamped in black ink.   I popped on my layers and made a tag with my Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, an then stamped on the sentiment "Just a Note" which is part of the Picture Perfect set.  I also added a pretty stamped lacy detail to the tag which is from another new set called Grateful Bunch.

I dyed the little wood veneer heart which comes as part of the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit and added a solitary Pearl embellishment.

This is the video tutorial to demonstrate the four step stamping technique using the MISTI.

I do hope you like today's project and thank you very for stopping by.

Three Layer Stamping - Picture Perfect meets Summer Silhouettes

Today's project is this simple but very pretty card, created using a variety of stamp sets.

I find that often stamp sets come with sentiments that stop short of what I really would like to say.  So, in order to express myself and say what was intended, for this card I made a marriage !

I do consider myself to have the nicest friends - so why not tell them ?

The card is 5" x 5" inches square, so I used a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 10" x 5" inches and scored at 5 inches on the long side.  I then dry embossed a square bevelled edge/border on the front.

I stamped my design on a separate layer of Whisper White cardstock which measures 4 5/8" inches.

The beautiful rose you see and the words "You are the Nicest" are both from the gorgeous new photopolymer set in the 2016 Spring/Summer Catalogue called Picture Perfect.   This set is a must for those of you who like the three layer stamping technique.  Included in this is a stunning image of a Humming Bird.

The Rose is created using a method call "triple time stamping".  Explained simply, it comes in three parts, so you build up the image in layers of colour.  The first layer is stamped in the palest shade (in this case Pink Pirouette).   The next layer was stamped in Melon Mambo, but because the colour is so strong, I stamped off the image once on a spare sheet of paper and then applied over the pale base layer.  The final stamp gives the Rose greater definition, and for this, again, I stamped off once on a spare sheet of paper in Rose Red before applying as the final layer.  I love the subtlety of the image.

The beautiful leaves come from the set Summer Silhouettes and these have been stamped in Pear Pizzazz.

Like I say, often sentiments on stamp sets don't quite state all of what I would like to say, so I added the word "Friend" and this can be found in the new photopolymer set called Bloomin' Love.  And keeping in line with the already subtle colours I used, the sentiment has been stamped in soft Smokey Slate.

I finished the card with two pretty vellum butterflies, which were punched using my Bitty Butterfly punch, and the edges were sponged in Pear Pizzazz.  Two little pearls were added, one to the centre of each butterfly.

I hope you like today's project and thank you for stopping by today.

Pinkies Blog Hop - 2016 Spring/Summer Catalogue

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

This cute little Tea Bag Box is my project to today.

With so many fantastic new products available in the new catalogue, it was ever so difficult to pick just one for this Blog Hop.

I absolutely love the cute new Cups and Kettles Framelits (it was the little cutlery set that caught my eye).   But honestly, the little teapot is just completely delightful. These Framelits and the gorgeous A Nice Cuppa photopolymer stamp set are available as a "Bundle" which will save you 15%.

The Box is very simple to make up and uses a piece of 11 x 5 1/2 cardstock.   A video tutorial for this will be posted on a separate blog post in a couple of days, so please do pop back and visit me then.

I adhered the lid of the teapot to the lid of the box, so that when the box opens, the lid detaches from the teapot !!!.  And I just had to add one of the fabulous new enamel dot embellishments from the Its My Party set of Enamel Dots as a teapot knob to add texture.   I adore the cute sentiment from the set A Nice Cuppa which is perfect for a Tea Bag Box gift, and of course the cute little silver teaspoon !!

The DSP (Designer Series Paper) "Have a Cuppa" was crying out to be used for this type of project and I love the colours in the design, which incoporate two of my personal favourites - Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.  This cardstock is available as part of the "Have a Cuppa Cardstock Pack" which features 24 sheets of A4 cardstock with 8 sheets each of Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and the gorgeous Wisteria Wonder.

Well, I really do hope this project helps to "stir up" your interest in the new Spring/Summer 2016 Catalogue, and that you continue being inspired by clicking the button below for details of the next Pinkie Blog Hop project.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Botanical Blooms No Glue Gift Box !

So I have been playing with yet more lovelies from the new 2016 Spring/Summer Catalogue.

I fell in love with this bundle of Botanical Bundle of Botanical Blooms Stamp Set, Botanical Building Framelits Dies and Botanical Gardens Design Series Paper.   All these item purchased together as a co-ordinating bundle of beauty will save you 15% off the cost you would incur if you were to buy them each individually.

I knew I wanted to make a box to showcase the exotic blooms, so I re-visited a box which was the subject of one of my You Tube tutorials a couple of years ago.  The box I made then was a small "No Stick Box" to hold a couple of nail varnishes.

So I decided to re-size and came up with a box which will hold six Ferrero Rocher chocolates or perhaps some nice soap or bath bombs.

I love the exotic appeal of these flowers co-ordinated with the pretty Designer Series Paper.

I hope you love them too, and have made this new You Tube tutorial which gives you instructions on how you too can create the "No Stick Box".   The only adhesive used was to make the belly band and adhere the flowers.  The box itself requires no adhesive at all.

Thank you for stopping by today.
