Island Indigo !!!! Where have your been all my life ?

So I sat looking at my beautiful ink storage caddy full up with gorgeous inks in many different shades and it struck me - I have never ever used Island Indigo !!  Just how did I miss this little gem of a colour?   So I ordered in some co-ordinating cardstock and hey presto !!   I conjured up this little gem :-

I wanted to create a kind of photo type look for my card and the gorgeous three step rose from Picture Perfect helped me to achieve that.  The rose was stamped in Soft Sky, Pool Party and Island Indigo.   I found that I liked the softer shade of Island Indigo that was achieved by stamping off first onto a piece of scrap paper and then applying the stamp direct to my cardstock.   The sentiment is also from Picture Perfect.

The gorgeous leaves are from the set Kinda Eclectic and again, I stamped off the image onto a piece of scrap before stamping direct to my cardstock.   I sponged some Pool Party over the leaves too.

The precision stamping was achieved using my beloved MISTI.

The ovals were die cut using my Ovals Collection framelits.

I love the effect and I do quite like my card.   Hope you do too.

Here is the video with step by step instructions :-

Have a Nice Cuppa !

I love love love my A Nice Cuppa bundle !

As I sat there stroking them lovingly I had a little flash of inspiration.  I am big big fan of wedgewood blue and white and in my minds eye I could just picture a traditional little blue and white porcelain teaset.   So with those images in mind I collected together my Whisper White and Marina Blue cardstock and inkpad, and three stamp sets - A Nice Cuppa, Hopeful Thoughts and Grateful Bunch.

I die cut the teapot, teacup and spoon using the Cups and Kettle Framelits Dies and put together some pretty stamped images from each of the three stamp sets.

...........and this is what I came up with :-

The base card is 10 x 5 inches, scored at 5 inches. and the top layer measures 4  7/8" inches square.

Makes me want to go and put the kettle on.  Tea anyone ?

Hope you like today's little project.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Birthday Botanicals

I have a fair few birthday cards to make in the coming weeks and thought I would share this one here with you today:-

I haven't tried paper-piercing for quite some time now, so out came the piercer AND needle and Metallic Silver Thread !!   So the card took a little longer than most, but I enjoyed stitching the pierced border.   It was actually quite therapeutic, as crafting should be.

I die cut some Botanical Blooms using the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies and silver embossed the background leaves from Hopeful Thoughts and the Happy Birthday sentiment from the set Cottage Greetings.

I finished off with a dry embossed edge and layered the 4 7/8"inch layer onto a piece of 5" x 10" inch Whisper White cardstock, which was scored at 5"inches using my Simply Scored board.

Simply click the links to take you to the products used.

Thank you for stopping by today and I do hope you like today's little project.

Its Dinky & Pink !!!

It really is dinky !!   Probably the smallest little box I have ever made - but really a robust little thing, due to the fact it has double thickness sides.

I always send out a little "Thank You" pack - a free product plus a handmade gift, sometimes a covered notepad, covered Post-It Note Holds, or prettily packaged chocolate treats.  It gives my customers something to look forward to and gives me the opportunity to be creative and share with them some of the latest Designer Series Papers, embellishments etc.   So I came up with this little box which holds a gorgeous lip butter.  Lip butters/balms are always useful for us ladies to slip into our handbags, and the pretty little box can be kept to hold something dinky, perhaps paperclips for brads?

In various shades of pink to compliment the contents, and simply decorated with a solitary Botanical Bloom, I have to say I am really very pleased with it.

This video tutorial gives you step by step instructions on how to create my dinky little box:-

All my Bloomin' Love

Love is in the air !!

It's almost Valentine's Day.  So this is my last Valentine Project and it was inspired by the lovely Lizy over at Lizy's House of Cards.

She took part in a Blog Hop and her design was a super clean an simple white card using this beautiful Bloomin' Heart thinlits die.  http://lizyshouseofcards.blogspot.co.uk/

I am a big fan too of CAS cards and had a similar idea in mind which had not come to fruition, until I saw Lizy's on Sunday.

My card is made up of layers.  The base card is 10 x 5 inches scored at 5 inches.

The next layer is 4 7/8 inches and has been dry embossed around the four sides. the next to layers are 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches and these two layers are layed on top of each other with the die cut heart cut out, and then inlaid with the four sides on the top layer having also been dry embossed.  I heat embossed the banner in silver embossing powder, cut it out and layered it across the middle of the heart.   The flowers were also die cut and I applied rhinestone gems for a little bling, and also the pretty little heart charm.

I usually am not a fan of wonky layering, but actually love the way it works with this card.

Here is a  video tutorial for you on how to create the card yourself.

Of course a card like this does not need to be limited to Valentines Day.   Wouldn't it make a lovely wedding or anniversary card too ?

Bag Full of Bloomin' Love

Today's project is this bag with an origami heart closure.

As Valentine's day is just two weeks away, I thought it was time to roll out a few ideas.

I have seen lots of origami hearts on You Tube video and thought that they would make a unique closure for my sachet bag.   The bag is packed full of Marks & Spencer chocolate love hearts and the origami heart on the front is too, giving the recipient a "little" hint of what loveliness awaits them inside.

The heart has been made from Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack, and I used Whisper White cardstock stamped in Rose Red with a matching motif from the Bloomin' Love Photopolymer stamp set for the sachet bag.  The sentiment on the banner comes from the set too.

This video tutorial gives you step by step instructions on how to create one yourself:
