Totally Trees - Cute Tiny Treat Box Tree Decorations

This is my final week of being a member of Pootles October Design Team.  Our task throughout the month has been to create different projects using the Totally Trees stamp set.

I thought the size of the tree motifs was absolutely perfect for these cute  Clear Tiny Treat Boxes which come in packs of 16.

Working in Melon Mambo cardstock, I heat embossed four little trees in White Stampin Emboss on four scored panels measuring just less than 2 inch square per panel.  Each little tree was embellished with some Jewels Basic Rhinestones.  There is a little 2 inch square panel on the inside bottom of the box.

I cut a little scallop edged square from my Layering Squares Framelits and adhered this to the top of the box.   I punched a hole in the centre and fed through some 1/8" Silver ribbon and secured this underneath with some strong double sided tap.  Then I adhered another 2" square piece of matching cardstock on the inside of the lid to hide where the ribbon had been secured.

I finished with a nice little bow and the this treat box is ready to fill with some sweet treats and hang from a Christmas Tree.   It did occur to me afterwards that you could make up 25 of these and number them from 1 - 25 to use as an advent calendar suspended from branches of your tree ?

Well that's all from me today.  Thanks for stopping by, and I do hope you find this little project pleasing.  I think the size of the treat boxes lend themselves perfectly to the Totally Trees stamps.

Bye for now.

Large Letters Dies & A Happy Birthday to a Lovely Lady

This card is intended for a lovely lady who has become a valued cyber friend and customer !

Its a style I have recently used for family.   This time, however, I decided to gold emboss the word "You" with my Awesomely Artistic stamp set.   I love this versatile set and roll it out all the time.  It never fails to achieve the wow factor.

I also used a current stamp set for the sentiment on the front.  This comes from Birthday Blooms. I pinched the word "To" from my Crazy About You photopolymer stamp set.

In layers of Pink Pirouette, Gold and Whisper White cardstock, the pretty little bow adds an extra little feminine touch.

Hope she likes it !!!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great time whatever you are doing.  Off to see my mum today.

Bye for now

Pootles October Design Team Week 3 - Faceted Box

So today is Week 3 of Pootles October Design Team Challenge and this is my project using our designated stamp set Totally Trees

.

I love Pool Party card stock and I really do love the new Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and I am a paper crafter who believes less is more.

But  this week I had the urge to create something a little more elaborate.  So, like last week, I revisited an old project of mine - the Faceted Box made using the Envelope Punch Board (see my video below for instructions on how to create one using 8 x 8 card stock).    For this box, however, I used two pieces of 6 x 6 inch cardstock and punched and scored at 3 inches.

The bottom faceted panels have been stamped with the Hardwood background stamp and heat embossed with Copper Stampin' Emboss.

The faceted top panels were stamped and heat embossed with one of the pretty motifs from Totally Trees.

I decided to add a very ornate topper in the form of a paper crafted chrystanthemum.  This was created using scalloped circles from my Layering Circles Framelits Dies (separate video will follow). The edge of the petals also have copper embossing to add more dimension.  A pretty ribbon bow closure and some gorgeous copper metallic thread completes my design.

This video gives step by step instructions on how to create a faceted box.

These boxes may look complicated, but honestly, they are super easy to make.  If you have not done so already, why not have a go?

Thanks for stopping by today.

Bye for now.

Beautiful Vintage Leaves and Clear Embossed Hello You Die Cuts

Something very different from me today !

I must confess that I have had the beautiful stamp set Vintage Leaves sitting collecting dust on my shelf, which made me feel very guilty.

Autumn is here so I thought it very appropriate to give the set an outing.

I have to say I am really thrilled with how this card turned out.   It has a contemporary feel which is what I was trying hard to achieve.  I used a 5.5 inch Whisper White card base and added further layers of Tempting Turquoise and Whisper White.

I chose one specific leaf from the set and randomly stamped in shades of Tempting Turquoise and Bermuda Bay along the bottom half of the card.

I decided to die cut the word "Happy" from my Hello You Thinlits Dies in Tempting Turquoise cardstock. Then I covered it in Tempting Turquoise co-ordinating ink.   This made the shade ever so slightly darker as I was after a bit of a contrast in colour between the word and the card stock.  When it was dry I covered it in clear Versamark, added clear embossing powder and set it with my heat tool to achieve a nice bold shiny sentiment.  It was applied to my card and then I sourced the word Birthday from my Crazy About You stamp set.

Hope you like it as much as I do.  Its a technique I shall be using again.

As always, thank you for taking the time to stop by today.

Have a great day.

Bye for now.

Linda
