For today's project I decided to try out the Masking Technique to achieve the pretty floral frame centrepiece on this card:-
The card base is 5 3/8 inches square and so fits perfectly in a 5.5" square envelope.
I used one of my Layering Square Framelits Dies to the create the template.
Then, it was simply a case of building up a pretty floral frame using three little stamps from the Bloomin Love Photopolymer stamp set.
I wanted to give the layered focal point of the card some dimension, so decided to mount it on a square piece of Fab Foam which I purchased from Hobbycraft. This really makes a good sturdy card. I think the look is nice, clean and simple.
I used a lovely palette of colours - Pool Party, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz. They compliment each other beautifully.
My new step by step video shows you how to create a card using this technique:-
A little over a week ago I attended the wedding of one of my crafty pals, and until now have not posted it to my Blog as I wanted to be sure that the recipients had opened it upon their return from their little minimoon !
Well I am happy to report that they have opened it and given it their seal of approval.
I chose to make it in Pool Party card stock and inks and Gold. I used Sweet & Sassy Framelits Dies for the layered hearts. I also used my Bloomin Love Stamp Set to stamp and heat emboss the gold floral centrepiece onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, which I also lightly sponged in Pool Party ink. A Blender Pen was used to apply and blend some Whisper White Craft and Pool Party ink to some of the stamped flowers.
The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder stamp set.
I have to say I was really pleased with how easily this came together. I think it is simple and unfussy, but quite easy on the eye.
