Christmas Countdown Project No 6 - Large Sturdy Box with Foil Acetate Wrapper

Hello and welcome back to my Blog.

Today I am super excited to be sharing Project No. 6 in my Christmas Countdown - which I was unable to bring you yesterday.  So I hope this is worth the wait.

I am so pleased with and proud of this gorgeous box.

I love everything about it - the size, the colour, the trimmings.  My. hubby tells me it looks like a posh shop bought gift box.  High praise indeed !

It's really easy to make too.

The dimensions of the box are 7.5 x 4.5 x 1 inches -  a really handy size which could take a variety of contents.

So ....... without further ado ........................... here is my latest video tutorial, giving you step by step instructions on how to make one for yourself:-

Hope you like it.

Thanks for popping by today, and I hope you will pop again.

Floral Phrases - Beautiful White Heat Embossing on Island Indigo

Well I thought that this was a very striking use of beautiful, dark and rich Island Indigo card stock.

I haven't used my Floral Phrases stamp set in a little while, but the motif I used here to stamp out this simple design is really very decorative and eye-catching, especially when heat embossed in white on a dark card stock.

I love the sentiment too.   In fact I just love everything about this fabulous stamp set.  Perfect for weddings, all kinds of celebrations and "Thank You's".  Its versatile which is something that is important when you are watching the pennies but want to get a lot of use from your crafty stash.

Not much more to say really.  I'm very happy with this pretty and stylish little card.

Again, my Whisper Note Cards have formed the base layer for this card.  They are great value for money at £5.50 for a pack of 20 5 x 3 1/2" inch cards.  Great for little greetings cards.    As the saying goes, all good things come in little packages !

Anyway - that's it from me for today.  Well, not quite !   I hope to have a video tutorial uploaded later of my latest Christmas Countdown project.   Clue ?     Its a gorgeous and generous sized box.

Whoo hoo !   Two projects in one day.  Hope you can pop back later.

Have a great day.

Colorful Seasons & Heat Embossed Acetate

Its a clean and simple card from me today.

I love the Colorful Seasons Photopolymer Bundle of stamps and dies - and being a huge fan of Jennifer McGuire, I came across a technique she used that I just had to try.  So thank you Jennifer McGuire for being a constant source of inspiration to me.

You do need heat resistant acetate sheets for this.  I purchased mine from Crafters Companion, but I am sure there are many other brands who carry heat resistant acetate out there.

First I die cut the leaf on the top layer.   I then cut a piece of acetate and a piece of Whisper White card stock to the same size.

I placed the plain layer of Whisper White in my MISTI (you will definitely need a stamp positioner of some kind for this technique).   Then I placed the die cut layer over the top.  I placed the large plain leaf from the stamp set over the die cut area and picked it up with the MISTI.

I then removed the die cut layer and stamped the leaf in So Saffron onto the bottom layer of card.  I used my daubers to rub in some Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral around the edges of the leaf stamp and stamped several times, building up some colours around the edges and removed from the MISTI when I was happy with the image.

Next, I placed the layer of acetate in my MISTI and again lay the die cut layer over the top.  I placed the more detailed of the large leaf stamps over the die cut area and picked it up with my MISTI.  I removed the die cut layer and stamped the detailed leaf in clear Versamark onto the acetate.

I then applied Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set the detailed gold leaf.

Then it was simply a case of assembling the layers and adding the sentiment which was also heat embossed in Gold.

It love the clean look of the card.  It's a case of less definitely being more for me.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for visiting and please pop back again.

Halloween Treat Box - Adapted Popcorn Box Thinlits Dies

With Halloween not so far away, I tried my hand at a fun little project, adapting the Popcorn Box Thinlits Dies.   I don't usually "do" Halloween at all, so it's a first for me.

That said, I really like my little Halloween Treat Box.

My adaptation is the addition of a simple lid to turn it into a box rather than a treat holder.

I loved the Cat Punch as soon as I saw it, so Halloween was a great excuse to put it to good use. I wanted the little box to be about fun - so added some googly eyes and the cute little Pumpkin face topper which I shared last week.

I really like taking a die and adapting it to create something a little different than what it was originally intended for.

I was all punched out by the end of my project.  I used six punches in total !   I have to say - I am "a punch girl".  I love the fact that they are so handy and portable.  Its so nice to go off crafting without having to lug a die cutting machine everywhere !

Hope you like it.

Here is my latest video tutorial with step by step instructions.

I had one or two technical glitches along the way with this one whilst editing and uploading, but with perseverance, I got there in the end !  And apologies for the inky fingers !  I got very messy with a project immediately prior to filming this one.

Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you pop back again tomorrow for my next project.
