August Projects - A little bit of everything !

Well its been a mega busy crafting month for little old me !

I think we all go through peaks and troughs when it comes to crafting - I know I certainly do.  But I was determined to roll out some hopefully inspiring projects and have showcased them here in a quick little video.

I amazed myself at just how much work was involved looking back at them all.

Hope you enjoy.

That's it from me today - back tomorrow with something super cute and ditsy !

Bye for now,

Linda xx

Grown With Love Bundle and Pinewood Planks Embossing

My Grown With Love Bundle arrived last week and I have been itching to have a play with it.

On the same order was the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressing Embossing Folder.

I knew these two could be a little match made in heaven - and I hope I have proved myself right.

Grown With Love Bundle, Linda Parker

I kept things clean and simple and opted to use Smokey Slate and Melon Mambo as a stylish colour combination.

There are lots of layers when you take into account the Oval centrepiece, each layer drawing the eye in.  I do love the stamp set and its great to be able to die cut the little flowers and pot to give the card some dimension.

I love how my card turned out.

It fits a 6 x 6 inch envelope.

Well that's all from me today.

Thanks for stopping by and please do come back again.

Self-Closing Decanter Style Box for a Terry's Chocolate Orange - Beautiful Year of Cheer DSP

Today's little gem is this decanter style self-closing box which I designed to hold a Terry's Chocolate Orange, although if you were to make it in stronger card, there is no reason why it can't be used to gift a variety of presents.

Chocolate Orange Box, Linda Parker, Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator

I opted to make it in the fabulous foiled Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper, available from 1 September, because the chocolate orange is very light-weight and the box does not warp, and the DSP does hold it's shape very well.  The chocolate orange fits perfectly inside, the way I intended.

There is actually room in the self-closing top part for more little goodies.  I am thinking those Chocolate Orange Segsations (individually wrapped little chocolate segments which are usually rolled out at Christmas).

The beauty of this box is that you don't have to ruin the box by untying the ribbon decoration, because the bottom opens too.

I made a little video - hope you like it and the box of course.

I do apologise for the state of my hair in the video.   Its a good job I was behind the camera !!

Well that's it from me today - off to play in my craft space later.  I have a cute idea I need to try out.

Thanks for stopping by today - Happy Tuesday everyone.

A Little Pretty Kitty and Thoughtful Banners

I do like to combine stamp sets and there is the great potential to do this with the Thoughtful Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set.  It is one of those sets which has a host of diverse individual words giving you the opportunity to use it for a multitude of cards, celebrating different events like Mothers Day, Graduation,  and allowing the freedom to express what you want to convey, for example :-

"Have a Wild Birthday"

"Have a Fabulous Birthday Mum"

"Happy Birthday From Us"

"You Inspire Me"

I don't think there are many sets that offer the capability to switch things up in such a way.

Add to that the cute little banners which can frame key words - and you have the ability to create cute focal points for your card projects, particularly if you combine the set with the Duet Banner Punch.

For this card I layered some Sweet & Sassy die cuts to frame the sentiment and banner

I decided to combine this set with my Pretty Kitty stamp set to decorate some plain little notebooks which I covered in this fabulous gold gingham DSP.  So I stamped and gold heat embossed one the kittens and die cut a square from my Stitched Shapes framelits.  Then I simply added a cute little punched banner and my little notebook has been transformed into something ever so pretty.  The sentiment on the notebook banner is from the set Badges & Banners and the little banner in that set co-ordinates with the Duet Banner Punch.

I think the two sets work really well together.  What do you think ?

Well I am off to enjoy the rest of this Bank Holiday weekend.  Hope you have a lovely day too.

Bye for now,

Linda

Personalised & Foiled Card for a Naming Ceremony

My son had the honour of becoming an "Ungodly Parent" yesterday at a naming ceremony for the baby daughter of one of his Best Friends.  The ceremony was not a religious one, but nevertheless it was an important family event.

Tom requested a personalised card for little Rosie and this is what I came up with.

The little Teddy Bear is a free clip art bear which I downloaded from here :-

http://diysolarpanelsv.com/bear-black-and-white-clipart.html#gal_post_2211_baby-bear-clipart-black-and-white-6.jpg

The only thing Stampin' Up! is the Whisper White and Gold Foil card stock.   I found the Whisper White card stock worked very well with my Spectrum Noir pens which I used to colour just the flower and the bow.  The ink did not bleed through the foil and was absorbed beautifully by the super smooth card.

The sentiment is foiled in gold First Edition foil and the sweet little Teddy Bear has been foiled with black reactive foil by Heidi Swapp.  I foiled the images using my laser printer and my Minc.

I do hope you like it, although more importantly, I do hope Rosie's parents liked it too.  Tom does !!

Well that's it - short and sweet from me today.

Off to have a major clear up - my poor house has been very neglected this last week !

Have a lovely day whatever you are up to.

Thanks for popping by and ta ta for now !!
