Lovely As a Tree Eclipse Card With a Little Star of Light

I have seen many Eclipse Cards appearing on social media - it rather reminds me of the time that the "Card in a Box" suddenly fired everyone's imagination, and actually, still continues to do so.  Having said that I think I feel a Christmas themed one brewing  !!!

Anyway, back to Eclipse Cards - here is my little take on them.

Lovely as a Tree was among the first Stampin' Up! stamp sets I invested in.  I loved it back then and I still do. Used here in Pool Party on Whisper White card stock, I think this looks rather nordic.

I wouldn't be without my Large Letters Framelits Dies.  Yes - they are quite expensive, but I have used them time and time again to create Christmas Cards, personalised Birthday Cards, on Boxes, Advent Calenders, etc.  I consider them to be a great investment.

I felt it needed a small extra sentiment and the one I chose from the Star of Light stamp set seemed appropriate.  Note the little solitary star from that set with a tiny bit of bling shining brightly in the winter sky.

I really enjoyed putting this little card together - and will be making some more to add to my little Christmas repertoire.

Right that's it from me - off to toilet train my new puppy Teddy.  He is running rings around me !!!

Have a great weekend.

Christmas Countdown Project No. 5 Mini Clutch Bag Box with Magnetic Closure in Year of Cheer DSP

Welcome to Project No 5 in my Christmas Countdown.

It's a gorgeous mini clutch bag box with a magnetic closure and is really handy for those small, hard to wrap, little Christmas gifts such as cosmetics, nail varnish, jewellery etc.

I based this little box on a previous project of mine for a large Clutch Bag gift box, but I have refined the closure on this little version.

Created using Year of Cheer DSP from the new Seasonal brochure, I opted for the gorgeous copper foiled design.  It's really beautiful.  I used a little Copper Trim Ribbon to accessorize and I heat embossed in copper too for the little topper.

Here is a side view of the box :-

I hope you like it.

Here is my YouTube tutorial which gives you step by step instructions on how to make one:-

Below is also a link to my large original version of today's mini project.  You will note the adaptations I have made for the closure:-

Thanks for stopping by - and I hope this inspires you to go away and have a go.

Bye for now - and Happy Friday everyone, the weekend is almost here again.  Yay !!

Gift Bag Punch Board Boxes Revisited

I love the Gift Bag Punch Board.

So today I decided to follow one of my own You Tube tutorials.  How bizarre is that ?

I did the video tutorial a couple of years ago (there is a link below) during one of the Sale-A-Bration promotions and decided to re-create my box today using products currently available from Stampin' Up!

Anyway - here it is ........

A gorgeous little box of loveliness.

I used the beautiful Bundle of Love DSP to make this special little box.  The box is lightweight - not sturdy, so great for little and light gifts, not heavy stuff.

The Label Me Pretty Clear Mount Bundle was perfect for the topper ...... and not content with just that, I decided to use my Everyday Label Punch as well.  Used together, they create a lovely topper for the Birthday Label.

You might just notice the pretty band of Gold Washi Tape around the lid too? It's from the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi pack ...... I used this to edge the lid.   Quietly pretty and a subtle detail.

It's really great  to revisit old projects and inject something new.

Hope you like this and it inspires you to get out your Gift Bag Punch Board.

Here is my original You Tube video tutorial from two years ago, with instructions to make this sized box:-

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you come back tomorrow for my next Christmas Countdown project.

Bye for now,

Flirty Flower Silhouettes and the Masking Technique

I like to revisit techniques so that stamping does not become boring.

I have had Flirty Flowers for a little while and not really used them.  I bought the set because the tall floral silhouette stamp really appealed to me.   So yesterday I decided to put it to good use.

I took a 5 x 3.5 inch panel of Whisper White card stock and placed it  horizontally in my MISTI.  I cut two 5 x 1 inch pieces of card and placed them along the top and the bottom of my card stock and held them in place with magnets.

I used my Sponge Brayer to roller on some ink, first working in Soft Sky and then some Island Indigo to create the strip across the centre of my card.

Still using the MISTI I then inked up the tall flower stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and stamped it onto the blue strip.  I wanted a really dense black image so re-stamped it before re-positioning the flower and stamping a second one (again re-stamping over it until I was happy with the density of the black image).

My One Big Meaning stamp set is a "go to" for me.  I particularly like the font and the sentiment used on this card.

When completed, I stuck the panel to a Whisper White Note Card.  But it occurred to me that I could just as easily have applied the masking and stamping direct to the note card itself to create a single layered card.  So I have decided to do this next time using some different colours.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today.

I will be back tomorrow with another little Stampin' Up! project !

Bye for now,

Linda xx
