Birthday Blooms - Painted in Subtle Shades of Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz Ink with a Blender Pen

I have really been getting my money's worth out of the Birthday Blooms stamp set this month.

I chose again to use it to create some heat embossed background stamping on this birthday card - this time in silver on Whisper White card stock.

I selected two pretty subtle shades of Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz ink which really compliment each other. I painted the blooms in Pool Party with a Blender Pen, spreading the colour and using it more intensely on some petals than others.  Once I had coloured all the blooms I concentrated on the abundance of leaves, painting these in the Pear Pizzazz.

I used layers of Pool Party and Whisper White card to frame the coloured blooms and also for the sentiment that formed the topper, die-cut with Stitched Shape Ovals Framelits.

I was going to add a bow, but it seemed to detract from the subtly coloured image, so I left it off.  It  was a good example of "less being more" for this little card.

I was pleased with how it turned out

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you return again tomorrow when I have a step by step Pictorial for a box project as my offering in this week's Pootlers Design Team Challenge.

Ciao for now !

  1. Beautifully subtle. This design could be used for so many different cards - wedding, anniversary etc. Love it.

  2. Birthday Blooms is not a stamp set that I have looked at closely because I have plenty of floral stamps in my collection, but I really like the design of the stamps on this card. The two colours used may be subtle but they are very effective and the use of silver embossing powder just pulls everything together including the sentiment. Thank you Linda for this idea.
