I spent a little while tucked away at the weekend experimenting with the new Big Shot Embossing Mats. I have used them with some of Stampin' Up!s dies that have the decorative ejection holes and have achieved some pretty stunning and detailed embossed images on those die-cuts.
Well yesterday I chose to die cut the word Happy with my Large Letters Framelits Dies. I did so twice, stacking and adhering them together to obtain nice double thickness letters.
I stamped up a simple but pretty design in Coastal Cabana ink using the Time of Tea stamp set.
Then I set up my Big Shot and the new embossing mats, placing the thicker of the two silicon mats on my A Plate (my cutting plate). Next I put my layer of Whisper White face down (stamped side down) on top of this and then lay down the letters face down in reverse to spell Y P P A H. Then I placed the White Impressions Pad on top and ran that sandwich through my Big Shot.
I was thrilled with the beautifully dry embossed result. It was crisp and clean and there are no untidy and unsightly blemish marks that you sometimes pick up from well used cutting plates.
Next, out came my Stamparatus to add the word "Birthday" to finish my card. I used a stamp from Cake Soiree stamp set, masking off the words I did not want to be stamped........ then a little smattering of sequins and I was done.
I'm pretty pleased with this one - hope you like it too.
Thanks for looking and I hope you will pop back.
Have a lovely week.
