I love pop-out cards ! I went through a phase of purely making Cards in Boxes in all types of themes.
A new found love is this variation - Book Cards. Like this one:
I have used lots of layers and the card feels very robust and substantial. In Whisper White and Melon Mambo, its simple and understated.
I love the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set - I have had it since I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and it is probably what I would call my "Go To" stamp set, purely for the beautiful vine motif stamped on both the front and inside of my card.
I added die cut flowers from the Botanical Builders Framlits dies on the front cover, intending to mimic an oriental cherry blossom. The flowers have been adhered to the white heat embossed stamped image and simply embellished with rhinestone gems. The sentiment on the front comes from the new Birthday Blooms stamp set. I think the font is exceptionally pretty.
The quote on the inside left-hand panel is from a retired stamp set called Moon Lake.
The sentiment on the inside comes from the set All Boxed Up! I used my MISTI to add a bit of the vine to that and am really happy with the result.
So this style of card has become my latest little fad. I just love it. Hope you do too.
I stumbled across instructions for this style of card from Deb Valder on You Tube. This is her instructional video:
Her version and my one are completely in different size but the methodology in creating them is demonstrated in her video.
I have been busy creating smaller versions of these cards to fit a standard C6 Envelope and if you visit me next week, I will have a C6 card and a video tutorial for you.
Thank you very much for stopping by today.
Happy Sunday!!
