After the excesses of Christmas, I guess a lot of us are clearing space for our new Christmas gifts.
My daughter is no exception. She has been busily sifting through piles of unwanted gift packaging too.
She popped her head around the door to advise that she was chucking out this box, and could I possibly use it ?
I am not a great lover of purple though - so how to go about prettying it up?
I often keep cards that I really like and also those that mean something special. A little while back Abby, my daughter, gave me a really beautiful card for Mother's Day. Not handmade (she doesn't do handmade), but nevertheless it was really beautiful. I kept in my drawer for inspiration.
Well out it came this morning ..... it was inspiration for a transformation.
I cut the front from the card.
Then I stuck it to a layer of Pool Party card stock and then to a piece of Kraft card stock.
It was then a question of cutting and gluing, and applying Kraft card stock each of the sides of the box. I made a little ribbon tab on the front of the box in co-ordinating Pool Party Satin Stitched Ribbon. Then I lined the inside of the lid and ....... "Bob's your Uncle" !!
And it took just about half an hour from start to finish.
I am well chuffed with the end result.
Hope you like it too and that maybe you will look at those rather useful but not so pretty gift boxes in a different light before you throw them out.
Thanks for stopping by today.
Bye for now.
