Abby is a fabulous daughter and makes us all very proud.
I spent part of yesterday creating this colourful and personalised Birthday Card for her.
I used my Blooms & Wishes stamp set and made sure to cover my 5.5 inch square top layer of Whisper White card stock in plenty of complimentary colours. I wanted something bright and vibrant and feminine. I love the contemporary look of the big bold flowers in this set.
Once I was happy with the stamping I created the personalised message on the front using Microsoft Word on my PC, by customising the size to 5.5 inch square (14 cm x 14 cm). I typed in the sentiment using different fonts and some "Word Art".
When I was happy with it I placed my 5.5 inch square stamped layer in my laser printer, and pressed "Print" !!
Well - unhappily for me, my printer decided to do the dirty and munched up my card ! So I had to repeat the whole stamping process all over again - not good.
After repeating the stamping onto a fresh piece of 5.5 inch square card stock, I made my way nervously to the printer (which was in the dog house !), pressed "Print" and held my breath ...........
This time it played "ball" and printed beautifully. Oh the mysteries of technology !
Relieved my little work of art was in tact, I then I foiled the sentiment in Gold Heat Reactive Foil using my Minc Laminator.
I was thrilled with how it turned out - the gold foiling on the gorgeous floral background looks really classy.
It was then, simply a question of applying the layer to a 6 x 12 Whisper White card base scored at 6 inches.
It's so lovely to be able to create something with a personalised message. I never have to use "Moon Pig" again for that !!
Well, that's it from me today - thanks for taking a look and have a great day. Please pop back again.
I can't believe it's Thursday already !!
Bye for now.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Linda. I have been following you for some time now and love all that you share with us. You are also the reason that I am now the owner of a Minc machine. I will have to work out how to get a stamped card front lined up to go through my printer because this looks so fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary for such a nice message. Custom set your sentiment. Create a document in Word on customised size e.g. for me card I created a 14 x 14 cm square document in Word. Added my Sentiment. Then sent my stamped card which was the same size as my customised Word document through the printer. :)
DeleteThanks Linda, will have to give it a try some time soon.
DeleteWould love to try this with a large thank you or happy birthday sentiment. I have a foil machine I've not used yet but only an inkjet printer so may not work . Great card and hope the birthday went well
