I have received a few enquiries/requests for a box to hold a set of 6 x 6 Greetings Cards, so I have decided to share a little recipe here with you today.
This box does fold flat and could be used for a variety of things, other than cards. Its just a nice useful size. I would say it could accommodate possibly six 6 x 6 inch cards with toppers and embellishments. It is 1 1/4 inches deep.
The reason I have chosen to do a pictorial, rather than a video tutorial is because I know not everybody has the time to sit through a video presentation. You can come back to this little recipe at your leisure. So I do hope you find it useful. I would love your feedback. If it's positive I intend to do a regular "Papercraft With Crafty Sunday Pictorial".
So here it is in a very simplistic form:-
You need two pieces of card stock.
Piece 1 measures 8 7/8 x 10 3/8 inches (You will need the 2017/2019 12 x 12 In Colors card stock)
Long side score @ 3/4, 2, 8 3/8 & 9 5/8 inches
Short side score @ 1/1/4 & 7 5/8 inches
Piece 2 measures 8 7/8 x 6 3/8 inches
Long side score @ 1 1/4 & 7 5/8 inches
Remove four corners marked with a cross.
Cut down the score lines marked by arrows as indicated.
Round corners as per photo and remove tiny wedges as shown to enable your box to close nice and easily.
Place double-sided adhesive tape where shown and adhere to the smaller card stock.
I have used Fresh Florals DSP to match the Lemon Lime Twist card stock layered onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.
I chose to decorate this box with Layering Oval Dies, my Labels To Love and Butterfly Basics stamp sets, together with the Everyday Label Punch.
Once I had all my layers and stamped sentiment, I adhered them to the front of my box as per the photos below.
So there you have it - an easy to assemble fold flat box ready to take a boxed set of 6 x 6 inch cards and envelopes, or whatever else you would consider appropriate.
That's it from me for today. Off to the kitchen to do some cooking. Lamb shanks, garlic fondant potatoes and apple pie. Yum !
Happy Sunday everyone.
