The Little Things Sweet Treat Sachet -The Pootlers November Design Team Challenge Week 5

I can't believe it's Week 5 of the Pootler's November Design Team Challenge.  The time has whizzed by !

The Little Things stamp set that myself and the other members of the  November Design Team have had to work with has proved to be very versatile.  There are sentiments which can be used for various occasions i.e. Halloween, Christmas, even Valentines Day !

So I have here my last project which is this pretty Sweet Treat Sachet.   I love the simplicity of the design and the Library Clips that hold the sachet closed.  Those and the gold and white gingham DSP give it a somewhat contemporary look.

When Christmas it out of the way (not long now !), these would make lovely Treat Sachets for Valentines Day.   That's me - always thinking ahead !!!

These sachets are super quick and easy to put together.  Nothing complicated at all.

So I will add nothing more other than, here is a my latest video tutorial giving you step by step instructions on how to put one together.  Hope you like it (an apologies in advance for some brief "out of focus" moments - I have no idea why my camera was playing up).

Ciao for now !

Box Within a Cracker Box - Christmas Countdown Project No 12 - Its a Whopper

Welcome to Project No 12 in my Christmas Countdown.

It's an enormous Cracker Box - actually its a Box Within a Cracker Box !

I love the large crackers that I have seen cropping up on Pinterest and Facebook.  I wanted to make one, but one with a difference.  I wanted mine to hold another gift box, making it extra-strong and capable of holding something weighty if required.

I used the Envelope Punchboard for my Cracker, but if you don't have one, don't despair because there are lots of videos on You Tube showing you how to the achieve the same shape with just a few snips of your scissors !

This beautiful and stylish Cracker is the perfect way to gift something special to your loved ones at Christmas and will look gorgeous under any Christmas Tree.

I have made a step by step video tutorial showing you how I made mine.  I hope it inspires you to go away and try making one too :-

Thanks for popping by and please check in again tomorrow for my final project in the Pootlers November Design Team Challenge.

Ciao for now !

Twit Twoo - Today I have a Little Painted Harvest Owl for You !!!

I have been dying to share this little chappy with you !

You may have read my Blog yesterday, when I spoke about thinking "outside the box" and using your stamps in ways that they were not originally intended..................................

So today, I bring you my cute little Painted Harvest Owl.  Don't you think he's cute ?!!  My family love him which is great, because this usually is an indication as to whether my idea for a card "works" or not.

I used the two step sunflower stamps for his eyes (adding two punched circles to complete his startled little expression).

I also used the sunflower stamps for all the messy little feathers.  You might just be able to make out that I used the large Burlap background stamp for the main part of his body.

I fussy cut around his eyes and body on a separate panel of Whisper White and then added this stamped layer to another panel of Whisper White.  This gives the card some texture.  I also cut another sunflower from a scrap piece which I used for the little tuft on the top of his head, hidden behind the small part of a large punched circle which forms his head (beneath the tuft).  The beak is a 1" square cut on the diagonal.

I added layers of Chocolate Chip, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White.

My card is a 6 x 6 card - so nice and big and square to show him off to his full potential.

I really had fun with this - to me that is what crafting should be about.

Well I do hope you like the little fella as much as I do.

Thanks for stopping by today and please pop back again tomorrow.
