Large Fold Flat Cubed Box Pictorial - Whole Lot of Lovely DSP

Hello and welcome to today's project.

Very recently, I received a lovely message from a lady who was struggling to come up with a box big enough to accommodate a large beautiful handcrafted Christmas Decoration.

My prototype was made using two pieces of retired 12 x 12 DSP.  It helped her out and she was a very happy bunny (I make up most of my prototype boxes and designs using obsolete card/DSP)

Since then I have refined that box and today I have this pictorial.

You need two pieces of card stock.

1 @ 12 x 7 1/2 inches
1 @ 10 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches
6 decorative panels measuring 3 7/8 inches squared

Large piece
Short side score @ 3 1/2 & 7 inches
Long side score @ 3/4,  4 1/4,  7 3/4 & 11 1/4 inches

Remove all sections indicated with a white circle in the photo below.

Smaller piece
Short side score @ 3 1/2 & 7 inches
Long side score @  3 1/2 & 7 Inches

Remove all sections indicated with white circles in the photo below:

Your templates should look like this:-

Next cut away about two thirds of each of the sections indicated below.

Adhere the decorative paper to the squares indicated.  Apply double-sided tape as shown, and round off the corners of the outermost sections.

Adhere the two separate pieces together as per the illustrations below:-

Remove tiny wedges from the side pieces

Your box is now ready to be decorated.

I used the 2 1/4 inch and 2 inch Circle Punches and the Starburst Punch, and sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set (stamped in Calypso Coral to co-ordinate with the DSP).

I assembled my topper and added a decorative bow using Old Olive 3/8 inch Mini Chevron ribbon.

And there you have it - a pretty 3.5 inch square fold flat box.

I have to say that I do love the stunning array of colours in the Whole Lot of Lovely DSP pack of papers.  They are gorgeous.

I have to say that this is a really useful size box and it's great that it folds flat to store away until needed.

That's it from me for today.  I will pop back to share another project with you tomorrow.
