Bold Inlaid Butterflies

A lot of my dies have been ignored by me in the run-up to Christmas - so it has been rather nice to flick through them with thoughts of creating some new generic cards, suitable for a variety of occasions.

I saw a card on Pinterest which has inspired my card today - these inlaid, "off the page" butterflies.

I took two layers of card measuring the same (approx 3 1/4 x 4 3/4).  Working with just one layer, I die cut the three butterflies from that layer.   Then I die cut three butterflies out of three different coloured card stock.

Next I adhered the two layers of card stock together, and inlaid my coloured butterflies, trimming off the bits that overlapped the card stock.  That panel was then adhered to a Whisper White Note Card.

The sentiment is from one of the stamp sets which will be available free in the Sale-a-Bration Brochure from 3rd January.

It's a nice clean and simple card and I really enjoyed the technique of inlaying.

Well that's it from me for today.   Can you believe it's Christmas Eve ?  I'm going into my last minute manic panic now, getting all those last minute jobs done.  I haven't even wrapped my presents yet!

So it's ciao for now.  Have a fabulous Christmas Eve everybody!

  3. Hi Linda,

I can't believe that you are giving us crafters a project on Christmas Eve, I love the inlay process and I certainly will be trying this out with a design similar to yours in the New Year.

Thank you again for yet another Sneak Peek in the 'celebration' sentiment die. I particularly like large sentiment dies as they 'pop' off the page on any design.

Please accept my best wishes to you and your family throughout the whole Christmas period. Have fun and laughter together.
