Foil Frenzy Large Triangular Box - For Those Awkward to Wrap Presents

Friday's project, the Pinch Close Faceted Box, was really designed for those awkward to wrap presents, it just happened that it was the perfect size for a mini bottle of wine too !

Well today's is also about gift packaging for those awkward shaped presents.

I did my usual scout about Pinterest and came across these super quick and easy triangular boxes that can whipped up in minutes and are perfect for odd shaped presents.

I took a piece of Foil Frenzy DSP (I love it - it's super cool and contemporary looking) which measured 12 x 7 inches.

I scored at 6" inches on the long side.

I notched at 3.5" inches on each of the short sides.

Then I scored from the notches to the outer edge of the centre score line. The photo below shows the score lines.  Don't punch the holds at this point.

Once you have scored the diagonal lines, fold the card stock as shown below being the sides together and then punch your holes as shown.

Now you can place your present onto the flat card stock, thread your ribbon and tie a pretty bow.  I have used the beautiful metallic edge Berry Burst ribbon which features in the upcoming Spring/Summer catalogue.

Then it was just a question of making a nice topper for my box using my Layering Oval Framelits and Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.   I heat embossed the sentiment.

I love these boxes.  You can make them in many sizes.  Banish the frustration of ripping good paper whilst trying to wrap those pesky awkward shaped presents.  Simply wrap some tissue paper about them and place them in these smart packages.  Sorted !!

Hope you like today's handy little project, and I would love you to pop back again.

I guess like me, you will braving the shops today for some last minute stocking fillers.  I have to say I detest Christmas shopping and have done most of mine online this year.

Have a lovely Sunday.

Ciao for now.

  1. Wow Linda, what a fabulous shaped box! I will have to put this one in my crafters reference book because I know that at some point I will have that present that will be an awkward shape and that this box will be the one that it will fit in. Thank you for all the projects you bring us crafters. I too hate Christmas shopping being disabled so I do mine online or I give my hubby a list and send him. :O)

  2. love your projects Linda .... am a little brain dead this morning what did you mean by notch and how do you do it ?
