These would be brilliant for craft fayres ! Great for gifting little toys, i.e. model cars, and even sweet treats. I decided to make a super shiny one. Be warned - I used a lot of clear embossing powder, but tried to minimise wastage by not heat embossing the template until I had cut away all the excess pieces that are usually scrapped. For this project keep hold of those scraps as I did. I used these discarded pieces to punch out lots and lots of half inch circles to form the pegs. Each of my little pegs are formed by layering four half inch punched circles. I did clear heat emboss a small scrap so I could punch out six shiny ones to form the top of each peg.
Of course, you don't have to shiny at all - just keep it matt if you wish.
I was really pleased with how it turned out. Its a fun piece. I am tempted now to make a stack of them in green, red and yellow primary colours! My craft room would end up looking like a toy shop !!!
These are the dimensions for the template:-
7 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches
Short side score @ 1 1/2, 3 1/2,5 & 7 inches
Long side score @ 5/8 & 2 1/8 - rotate 180 degrees and repeat
I punched out two half circles on the back of the box to making opening and closing it much easier.
Hope you like my little Lego project - hubby did !!
Thanks for looking and please pop back again.
Have a great weekend.
