Well it is really. A recipe for a really lovely colour combo.
I don't use copper embossing very often, but decided to team it with some Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stock.
I created four layers of Chocolate Chip Hearts using the largest of my Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies which were then adhered together to give a nice deep topper.
I also took a layer of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 4 x 5 3/4 inches and used the same die to cut a heart out of the centre. I used an embossing mat to dry emboss the outline of the heart with my Big Shot.
I used the Bloomin Heart Thinlits Die to cut the intricate heart which I covered in Versamark, applied Copper Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set it. This process was repeated, in order to achieve a nice smooth layer of copper embossing. I used the large Sweet & Sassy Framelit again, to further reduce the size of the intricate heart, so it matched the size of the layered Chocolate Chip heart shape. The copper embossed heart was then adhered to the layered Chocolate Chip heart.
The Very Vanilla layer is adhered to a piece of Chocolate Chip measuring 4 1/8 x 5 7/8 and in turn these were adhered to the card base - 6 x 8 1/2 inches, scored at 4 1/4 inches to fit a C6 envelope.
The heart was set in the aperture and the sentiment heat embossed in copper, with a pretty copper bow added to further embellish it.
I hope there is going to be room on our mantlepiece - my hubster now has four Valentine cards to open. Well it would be shame to waste them !!!!!!
I'm off out early to do some furniture shopping - I hope you have a lovely day, and please pop back again.

ReplyDeleteLinda c'est magnifique ,merci !Quel bon goût .Evelyne
ReplyDeleteThis is a fantastic card Linda, you could easily change the sentiment so that this card could be for a different occasion. I would never have thought to have used chocolate chip for the heart but it works brilliantly against the vanilla card stock. Your hubster is going to love opening all his Valentines cards. Mine would not like that, he absolutely hates cards - he thinks that they are a waste of money even if they are handmade. :O)
