If you saw a Blog Post of mine last week for a pretty Pastel Rainbow Flourish, you could be forgiven for thinking that the discarded negative piece of card stock ended up in the craft bin https://www.papercraftwithcrafty.co.uk/2018/04/a-pastel-rainbow-flourish-thinlits.html.
Well it didn't. I saved it, together with all the little bits from the gorgeous rainbow flourish, and painstakingly put together this little jig-saw puzzle of a card filling in the negative space with a nice, crisp, fresh Whisper White die-cut Flourish.
Waste Not - Want Not
Some might say, and indeed a few do say, why not just die cut the flourish in white, create a piece of rainbow card and stick the flourish on top. I could do, but for me that defeats the object. The fact is - I do like a jig-saw puzzle and also - I happen to love the smooth flush finish achieved by working with and filling in the negative space left by die-cutting.
So the upshot is that by die-cutting the pretty flourish rainbow last week, I was left with a piece that enabled me to make two very different cards. Waste not - want not ! How very frugal of me. I think the flourish looks quite different turned up the other way too.
