The images are very simplistic but pretty. I needed a Get Well card and I love the sentiment in this set (as well as the font).
So I set about creating a blended background using a blending tool and some Bermuda Bay ink. Once I was happy with the blending, I took a Baby Wipe, scrunched it up, dabbed it on my Bermuda Bay ink pad and then dabbed it gently all over my blended piece. This gave a very subtle marbled effect that I find very pretty.
I applied the finished layer to 4 x 4 card base, cut at 8 x 4 inches and scored at 4 inches on the long side.
I felt my dandelions were in need of little "twinkle" so added a few little rhinestones.
Simple, but I think quite pretty.
Anyway, that's it for today. Thanks for looking.
Bye for now,
Linda xx

Linda, brilliant card. Tried the baby wipe to do the marbling but mine - well it is in the rubbish bin. Would you please consider doing a video on this technique to show me/us, please. TIA Mal
ReplyDeleteOh dear ! You do just sponge your base. Then scrunch up a fresh baby wipe, dab it directly on your ink pad and then dab where you want it on your card stock. I will try and do a quick "how to" video xx
DeleteI love this design Linda, I will certainly try the baby wipe technique. Do you have to squeeze the baby wipe out before applying to the ink? :O)
ReplyDeleteThanks Lorraine. No you just a fresh baby wipe, scrunch it up and dab it directly on your ink pad and then dab where you want it on your sponged base layer :) xx
DeleteThank you Linda. I will try again. Think my baby wipes may be a little too wet - they are called "Water Wipes". Will squeeze out a little of the water and will try again. However, a "how to" video would be sincerely appreciated. Warm Wishes: Mal Lynch
