I kept the cards simple last year, and they are simple again this year, but made using a different die. I used my Blizzard Thinlits which cuts a whole bunch of snowflakes, but for simplicity I opted to use only one and one simple score line made with my Simply Scored Board to create what looks like an embossed card.
For last year's cards I kept the theme completely monotone, even stamping in the same colour ink as my card stock. This year, I have stepped it up with a die cut "Happy" for which I used the Happy Birthday thinlits die. I heat embossed in white the word Christmas which is from my Star of Light stamp set. I masked off the rest of the sentiment on the stamp with some washi tape before stamping in Versamark onto my card layer.
I have a top tip here !! Do you notice sometimes when you die cut that you are left with those annoying little bumps where you can poke the die out? Curiously - sometimes I get them when I use the Happy Birthday die and sometimes I don't. Well I did this time, and all I did was rub the offending bumps very very gently with my bone folder, and "Hey Presto !" they disappeared.
The little bow and blingy gem helps to lift the whole thing and I think its a lovely little card which would look great in a variety of non-traditional Christmas Colours, just as I did last year. Here is a link so you can compare them if you wish (just click the photo)
