It's been a little while since I last shared a Blog Post, which I mainly put down to lack of motivation and have self-diagnosed as a severe case of the craft room blues ! My room is currently quite a creamy colour (verging towards pale yellow). I have outgrown that and I am being drawn to a cool pale grey. So I got to thinking that Rose Gold accessories would be a nice way to introduce a little luxury and warmth to combat the coolness of pale grey.
I have an Ikea Peg Board and I love it, but decided to try and make it more pretty to look at. It currently holds my embossing powers, paper towel on a roll, binder clips, some metallic threads, adhesives and washi tape. So going with the Rose Gold theme, I used some copper coloured washi tape to revamp the clear square pots. This was a simple and inexpensive trick but ties everything in beautifully. Then I used my Daisy Punch to make a cute little box framed copper daisy on a smokey slate polka dot background.
I love my new large wall clock (and yes I know the time on the wee little alarm clock is different. The battery has died and needs replacing !).
I invested in the coolest Clip Board Calendar from Sainsburys. It's fab. It has each month printed on twelve pieces of Rose Gold and Marble Card. On the reverse of each month there is a place to add notes for the month, i.e. birthdays, appointments etc. It looks so pretty, yet is really useful.
I bought the Marble and Rose Gold printed quote from Dunelm Mill.
My daughter bought me the gorgeous embroidered note book from Accessorize for Christmas and I decided to display it because it is so pretty.
I have added a cute little fake Peony in a little round glass vase (from tkmaxx).
It's a start and I have a long way to go, but I am happy.
My desk is a complete no go area at the moment whilst I endeavour to make it more user friendly. Over the coming weeks I will be undertaking a little bit of a revamp. Nothing spectacular due to lack of finances, but just enough to get the old mojo flowing again. What I have been doing is investing in a few key pieces to work around and give me some inspiration.
Having nice stationery, i.e. coordinating pens, stapler, note pads etc is a great basis to work from too, when creating a pleasant working environment. I have to say that I really did enjoy putting together a Wish List and indulging in a spot of online shopping. The Rose Gold craft scissors are wonderful ...... like a gorgeous craft ornament. I just keep stroking them !!
So there you have it ...... some of my key purchases as I begin re-thinking, re-organising and glamming up my work area.
Not sure when the revamp will be complete as I have still to source some new desk space and haven't even stated that yet; but I do hope to share it with you when it's complete. There is lots of painting to be done too. Oh my - what have I started ?
Thanks for looking, have a lovely day and happy crafting.
Linda xx

ReplyDeleteI love your start. I can't wait to start in my room. It is so so messy. I really plan on cleaning it hopefully toward the end of March. When I get brave enough, I will send you a before and after picture.
