Emboss Resist Technique & Butterfly Gala Stamp Set

I love how soft and pretty today's card turned out.

I decided to revisit the emboss resist technique, but "fine tuned" it by adding one further step at the end of the process to end up with this soft looking background.

Step 1 - I stamped and clear heat embossed my butterflies on Whisper Card Stock.

Step 2 - I used my Daubers and a selection of ink pads and built up a rainbow of colours, blending each one into each other.

Step 3 - I grabbed my Whisper White Stampin' Craft ink pad and swept it face down across the entire front of my card stock, covering the whole thing with a layer of chalky white ink.  I immediately wiped if off thoroughly using some kitchen roll.  Then I repeated that process two further times, until I had the soft ethereal blended effect that I was after.

I finished by adding the topper, stamping my sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Jennifer MacGuire inspired this card.  I watched her using the Trapped Emboss Resist Technique, which gives a different effect, whereby she performed STEP 2 above first, then STEP 1, followed by STEP 3, thereby trapping the colours.

I just simply decided to try the "Emboss/Resist Method", so that I did not "trap" the colours, ending up instead with white butterfly outlines.

Tomorrow I will share the card I made using the Trapped Emboss/Resist Method.

Thank you for looking.  I do hope you like the card and give the technique a go.  I really enjoyed it.

Have a great day everybody and happy stampin'.  It's the weekend - YAY!

Bye for now.
