Smooshing Technique and Butterfly Gala Photopolymer Bundle

Who doesn't enjoy a bit smooshing ?

I love it and I really enjoyed using it for this cute little card today.

There are various techniques employed for smooshing and I decided to try one that I haven't tried before.  I am happy to report back  that for me, it's the one that gives the best results.

I have tried smooshing using acrylic blocks in the past and the results were a bit hit and miss.

For today's card I smooshed with a piece of window sheet and it worked a treat.

You will find lots of YouTube tutorials demonstrating smooshing with window sheets, but basically the technique is this:-
  1. Drop some ink (a little goes a long way) onto your window sheet.   Spritz it gently with water, then apply in dabs onto your watercolour paper.
  2. When you are happy you have put enough down, simply wipe the watery ink from the window sheet and apply the next colour, and so on.   The beauty of this is that if you think you need more of a certain colour, you can apply more where you want it.
When I was happy with my smooshing I simply die-cut a stitched rectangle and used that panel for the centre of my card.

The sentiment and the little butterfly are from the Butterfly Gala Bundle which should, hopefully, be available to order when stocks are replenished sometime during April.   It proved so popular both with demonstrators and customers, that Stampin' Up! could not keep up with the demand. Watch this space, I shall be shouting from the rooftops when they are re-available to order, because I have several customers jumping up and down waiting to order theirs.

Anyway, that is it from me for today.  I do hope you like my card.   Why not go and try some gentle Sunday Smooshing?   Its a fun technique and I guarantee you will be hooked.

Thank you for looking, and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Bye for now and happy crafting everybody.
