A Crafty Little Sneak Peek - Pretty Bird Ballad DSP Makes a Simple and Gorgeous Focal Point for Your Cards

Being a demonstrator means that I get to enjoy choosing from a select list of items from the upcoming catalogue before it goes live to my customers.

Well I can tell you that it is jam packed with goodies this year ...

First thing on my list was a pack of the absolutely beautiful Bird Ballad 12 x 12 inch DSP (Designer Series Papers).   If like me, you are a lover of birds and nature then you cannot fail to be drawn to the fabulous papers in this collection.  You will find these papers on page 92 of the new Annual Catalogue, which customers who have shopped with me during the last six months, will find dropping through their letterboxes in a couple of weeks.

For today's card I used my Detailed Floral Thinlits, Rectangle Stitched Framelits and Shimmery White card stock to make the base, the intricate cut background panel and a stitched frame.

Then I took my scissors to my gorgeous papers ..... and I have to admit that it was hard cutting into such pretty paper.  But I selected one of the cute little birdies and cut out the piece which forms the focal point for today's lovely little card.

I finished by adding some Pool Party card for the background, embellishing with some pearl accents, shimmery Pool Party ribbon and some punched leaves which I shaped to add a little dimension.

The sentiment is from the new Free as a Bird stamp set (also found on page 92 of the new Annual Catalogue.

This project has really inspired me to find more ways to use and promote the gorgeous Bird Ballad papers, so do watch this space.

Thanks so much for looking and I hope you will pop back.

Have a super Sunday and ............"Happy Stampin!"

Linda xx

  2. When I first saw this bundle/stamp set, I really didn't want it! I know, I'm crazy! The dies alone should have me purchasing this bundle! Crazy! But, I've seen some really beautiful cards and projects on Pinterest, Facebook, and others sites like these, that I've done a 180! The DSP is a little busy for me, but, in moderation, will be beautiful! TFS!
