Shaker cards always seem to defeat me. The shake just doesn't shake. Those pesky the sequins seem to remain stubbornly stuck around the edges of my apertures, resulting in abject disappointment and ultimately a trip to the craft room bin.
Not so this one !
I decided to go for it and try my hand at making a shaker card whereby the aperture/shaker window was, frankly, huge.
I used the gorgeous new Bright Rosa Diamond Panel dies, together with some acetate and adhesive back foam strips which I have had in my craft stash for some time.
I prepped and I prepped and I prepped some more. I stuck the adhesive strips around the edged of my 7x5 die cut panel and liberally dusted around the edges with my anti-static tool which I got from Amazon and which is currently only £4.45 with free delivery from Amazon. I added a variety of sequins in icy blues and irridesent white and nervously sealed them within the big aperture.
My hope was that at least a few might shake freely, but the buzz I got when I tentatively shook it for the first time was just amazing. My sequins positively flew around within the big aperture created by the fabulous cover die with only a few sticking to the edges. The sound was very satisfying too.
I would call it a big success ....... and a relief too; because this card, along with lots of my other creations was soon winging its way to the Craft Stash HQ to be photographed for their website and ultimately a trip to the Hochanda studios, where it will be presented as a sample on Hochanda tomorrow evening at 6.00 pm, by the lovely Paula Pascual, the designer behind the brand, and now a bona fide Hochanda TV Presenter. Paula will be presenting her new Bright Rosa Sunflowers and Sentiments collection
I want to give a shout out too, to the lovely word dies I have used. These are also part of Paula's new collection. They are the from the Bright Rosa Sweet Words dies. I coordinated them with some stamped sentiments too, which are from the Bright Rosa Birthday Wishes stamp set.
I hope that maybe you can tune into Hochanda tomorrow at 6.00 pm or Sunday, or perhaps record the show. I know that Paula has lots of creative inspiration to share when she promotes her new release. I was incredibly fortunate to receive the new collection in its entirety and really enjoyed working with them all. They were all very inspiring. I even made a new handbag/evening bag gift box, which I will be demonstrating in a video tutorial on my YouTube channel next week. I can't wait to share it with you.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I hope you have a super weekend and ........................"Happy Crafting Everybody!".
