Pop Open Presentation Box for a Gift Card - Plus Video Tutorial

Hi everyone

I feel like a hermit !   I have been so busy finalising my new craft room set up.   I have arranged and then re-arranged stuff.   Its quite a process finding what works well in terms of storage, accessibility,  layout, etc.  Plus I am working on my latest Hochanda samples for Craft Stash.

But I finally found time to slip in a little project which I really enjoyed putting together.  I think this is rather a pretty and fun way of giving someone a Gift Card.

I used the Fun Accessory Die Set by Simply Made Crafts to decorate the inside of the my box and for the sentiment on the box lid.  The set contains some really useful little birthday/party themed word dies and balloons, plus other dies.  There are a total of 16 dies in the set.

The card stock is by Tonic Studios and the pretty pink decorative paper is by Chloe.

This is my latest step by step video tutorial, taking you through the process of putting the box together:-

I hope you like this idea.  It would work well for many different occasions.

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you will pop back again.   If you haven't subscribed with either my blog or my YouTube channel, then I would love you to do so.  That way you will be notified each time I post a project or a video tutorial.  You can follow me on Instagram too.

Star Shaped Box - Using Fabulous New Dies by Simply Made Crafts

This site uses affiliated links which means I will receive a small percentage if you use any of my links to purchase products I use for my projects .  Please see Affiliate and Product Disclosure tab above.

Craft Stash UK  recently sent me a selection of the new Surprise and Delight range of dies by Simply Made Crafts and when I saw the Star Box Die Set I could not wait to get to grips with it.

This clever set makes it super easy to create these gorgeous and generously sized star shaped boxes.  The finished box measures 7 (at its widest point) x 4 inches.

Helen Griffin is the designer of the Simply Made Crafts range. This was my first attempt at making the star box, and was the sample I sent off for Helen's appearance on Hochanda, debuting her brilliant new collection.

What an incredible way to gift something to someone?   My box is very sturdy.  I used Craft UK A4 Smooth White 300 gsm Card Stock  The beautiful gold 230 gsm textured card stock is Tonic Studios Speciality Card in Golden Mosaic

At just £26.99 for the complete set of 16 dies, this would be a great set to add to your crafty stash, if you like to make boxes that have the real WOW factor.  Available from Craft Stash UK, shipping is free for UK orders over £15.  The set is also available to order in the US Mainland, Australia and Europe.

Well that's it from me for today.  Hope you like todays project.   You can get full details of the products used by clicking on any of the red highlighted text above.

Bye for now and ..........................."happy crafting everybody!".

Pretty Greetings Card Using Dies by Card Making Magic

This site uses affiliated links which means I will receive a small percentage if you use any of my links to purchase products I use for my projects .  Please see Affiliate and Product Disclosure tab above

Today's card has been made using the Oval Box Collection of dies by Card Making Magic, designed by Christina Griffiths.   I can honestly say I have never seen so many dies in one pack.  There are an amazing 31 pieces in total - and such great value for money at just £26.99, from Craft Stash UK.

I wanted to create a card that really made a statement and opted for a selection of the larger layering oval dies.  I used a selection of die cut flowers from the pack, plus some floral embellishments from my stash.  I felt that the card would benefit from some larger stems, so I used some ivy dies that are in the Landmark Occasions Collection Ultimate Number & Overlay Die Set, also by Card Making Magic.

You will note what looks like an embossed section to the right of the card, this was achieved by using yet another Card Making Magic die - this time, the Double Sided Border Die.

I went with a rather bold colour choice.  I used Fushia Pink Centura Pearl card stock from Papermilldirect.

Just for the record, the card base is a whopping 8x8 inches.

I am a Craft Stash Design Team member and Craft Stash have generously sent me the Landmark Occasions together with the Oval Box Collection of dies to design with and I hope to be bringing you more creative projects over the coming weeks.

If you are new to Craft Stash, then you might be interested to know that shipping is free to the UK for orders over £15.  Plus you will receive 10% discount if you are placing your first order with them.  Craft Stash also ship to Mainland USA, Australia and Europe.

Well I do hope you like today's project.  It kept me out of trouble for the best part of the morning !!

Thank you for visiting, and I hope that you will pop back again.

Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting everybody!".

This site uses affiliated links which means I will receive a small percentage if you use any of my links to purchase products I use for my projects .  Please see Affiliate and Product Disclosure tab above

As part of the Craft Stash Design Team I was fortunate to get my hands on the new Split Cube Box Die Set by Simply Made Crafts, designed by the lovely Helen Griffin.   This Die Set is part of the new Surprise and Delight Collection and I made today's little project for Helen's recent appearance on Hochanda.

It's a really lovely project and very easy to put together.  The finished box has two hidden triangular compartments that fold up together to make the cube.  It's perfect for holding little gifts or treats.  It would be lovely to use as wedding favours, bridal showers, etc.

I used Centura Pearl pastel card stock and 300gsm white card stock.

This set is £22.99 available from Craft Stash UK.  Delivery is free to the UK for orders of over £15 and is also available to order in the US Mainland, Australia and Europe.  If you are placing your first order you will receive a 10% discount too !

Thank you for visiting and I do hope you will pop back again soon.

Masculine Valentine Card - I Love This Sentiment by Altenew

This site uses affiliated links which means I will receive a small percentage if you use any of my links to purchase products I use for my projects .  Please see Affiliate and Product Disclosure tab above
Well now lookie here - it's Valentine's Day !

After the inevitable hype following the Christmas season, the day we get to send a special card to our dear hearts is finally here.

Did you work yourself up into a stushi trying to put one together?   Well I personally find masculine cards are always a challenge no matter what the occasion.

But putting this one together was made easy because I stumbled across a great little stamp set by Altenew.  It's called "The Best Thing" stamp set.  It comes in a dinky pack but I think it speaks from the heart - well it does for me anyway (and it only costs £4.99 from Craft Stash UK).

So I simply used some Wood Textures decorative paper by Craft Consortium together with Nesting Heart Dies by Docrafts and put together a simple card with no fancy frills.

I am happy with it, and I just hope that hubster appreciates the love that went into it. I shouldn't doubt him because he is hugely supportive of everything I do creatively.  I count myself as being very lucky to have him.

Thanks for looking and I hope you will pop back.

Have a super day and ................."happy crafting everybody!".

Sympathy Card in Memory of One of My Lovely Crafty Friends

Although I use affiliate links on my Blog, this blog post uses no affiliate links.

I received some very sad news last week.

I struck up a lovely friendship via mail with Karen approximately five years ago, shortly after I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  So I guess that made us pen pals. She sent me a beautiful and sweet letter and card out of the blue introducing herself and it was the start of how I got to know a beautiful, kind and talented lady from Liverpool with a wicked sense of humour.  She began ordering from me and went on to join my team, before I resigned.

Over the years I was treated to beautiful hand-crafted cards and gifts from Karen.  We exchanged cards, presents, emails and had a few hilarious telephone conversations.  I have kept every one of her cards and messages.

Whilst I knew she was battling a terminal illness, the speed of her passing was a shock and really filled me with great sadness.  We need more "Karen's" in this sometimes horrible world.  She was a little ray of sunshine, despite her battles with poor health.

I discovered that like me, she was also a big fan of Altenew stamps, so I feel it is only fitting that this sympathy card was made using the Beautiful Day stamp and die bundle, in honour of her memory.

I like to think that Karen would approve.  We had pretty similar tastes.  RIP my beautiful crafty friend.

Craft Room Relocation - DIY Mouse Pad

This site uses affiliated links which means I will receive a small percentage if you use any of my links to purchase products I use for my projects .  Please see Affiliate and Product Disclosure tab above

I am in the process of relocating and setting up a new craft room.  It's been time-consuming and fun and ....... costly !

So, to save myself a few pounds here and there I have been making do and DIYing.

I bought myself a glass surface protector for my admin desk, where I sit and create blog posts, deal with emails etc.    I love the protector but needed a mouse pad too.   Having looked online, I struggled to find one I liked.   Most were huge and just not what I wanted, so I decided to make my own.   It may only be a temporary one until I can the right one, or ..... you never know ....... I may well stick with it as I rather like how it turned out.

All I did was take a cereal bowl.   The diameter of mine is 5-3/4 inches.   Obviously if you require bigger, then you can customise.   I drew around it on pretty decorative paper (this is from the Perfect Moments 12 x 12 inch paper pad by First Edition - I just love their papers).   The pink is soft and compliments my glass decorative mat beautifully.

I also drew two more circles; one on plain white card stock and one on a sheet of cork.   I cut out all three then used the lovely set of dies by Bright Rosa called Sweet Words.  It contains the word "create" together with coordinating shadow die.  So I die cut the shadow from the centre of my decorative paper, then I die cut a further white shadow and popped in place of the one I removed from the decorative paper.  But, before doing so, I also die cut the the word "create" from the centre of the white shadow and die-cut it again from a piece of patterned paper, inserting it into the centre of my shadow die cut.  The purpose of creating the all the inlays was so that the word sits flush within the paper and card and laminates well, without any lumps or bumps. I then popped the decorative circle on top of the white circle, placed them in a laminator sheet and ran them through my laminator.

I trimmed around the laminated circle, leaving a little clear lip all the way around.

Then I grabbed some super-glue and glued the cork circle to the reverse and voila !!  I have a super cute DIY mouse pad which does not slip on the surface of my desk.

I am very pleased with my foray into the world of mouse-mat making - it saved me some unnecessary expenditure for now, and I love it so much that I was itching to share it with you here.

I do hope you like it too.

That's it from me for today - I still have much to do in my craft room.  It's getting so well organised .... I can't find anything !! LOL !!

Thanks for visiting today and I do hope you will pop back again for a future visit.

Bye for now and ......................."happy crafting everybody!"

Hi everyone

I am still in the process of moving into my new craft room - it's been a long haul, but I am sure it will all be worth it in the end and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel.  My flooring is being laid today!

I loved having the opportunity to use my Tonic Studios Alcohol marker pens.  They are lovely to use and blend beautifully, and this sweet little card was my personal favourite from the samples I designed.

By the way, this adoreable little Fairy is from the Dandelion Elf stamp set.
