I received some very sad news last week.
I struck up a lovely friendship via mail with Karen approximately five years ago, shortly after I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator. So I guess that made us pen pals. She sent me a beautiful and sweet letter and card out of the blue introducing herself and it was the start of how I got to know a beautiful, kind and talented lady from Liverpool with a wicked sense of humour. She began ordering from me and went on to join my team, before I resigned.
Over the years I was treated to beautiful hand-crafted cards and gifts from Karen. We exchanged cards, presents, emails and had a few hilarious telephone conversations. I have kept every one of her cards and messages.
Whilst I knew she was battling a terminal illness, the speed of her passing was a shock and really filled me with great sadness. We need more "Karen's" in this sometimes horrible world. She was a little ray of sunshine, despite her battles with poor health.
I discovered that like me, she was also a big fan of Altenew stamps, so I feel it is only fitting that this sympathy card was made using the Beautiful Day stamp and die bundle, in honour of her memory.
I like to think that Karen would approve. We had pretty similar tastes. RIP my beautiful crafty friend.
Linda xx

Really sorry to hear that sad news. My thoughts are with you Linda and of course her family … even through I don't know them, but they will be going through a very distressing time for some time to come.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
