We had a socially distanced BBQ which lasted late into the night and it was lovely to catch up with family members ahead of the Rule of Six which comes into force here in the UK today. It's very strange times we find ourselves living in. I am thankful that together as a family we could all unite and let her know how much she means to us all.
I had a pretty full-on day prepping food and desert to take over, but managed to find time in my busy schedule to make a card to mark her special day.
I used my Statement Flowers stamps and dies by Altenew. I will let you into a secret - I actually removed the flower topper from a card that I had previously made, because I loved the colours and did not have quite enough time to recreate them again. So a spot of recycling was involved !!
I partially die-cut the front of my 6"x6 " card base with the flower die to create a nice edge. I lined the inside of the card with some pretty coloured card stock to match the flowers, which are coloured with a selection alcohol marker pens. I lightly stencilled a subtle background using the Patchwork Kite Stencil by Altenew and flicked some Tim Holtz Gold Alcohol Ink over that and the flowers.
The big birthday sentiment is a mix of Landmark Occasions Number Dies by Card Making Magic, Temperance Alphabet dies by Tonic Studios, and random stamps.
I am happy to report back that she was very happy with her card. I enjoyed making it and giving it. I do love cardmaking.
Hope you like it too - and maybe look at recycling some cards you have made but not yet sent. I prefer the layout of this one to my original card. The partial die-cut edge just makes it a little more special. A special card for a special lady.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will pop back again !
