Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.
Pop Up 3D Vignette Camera Details
Becca shared that this is one of her passion projects and we all see why - cameras are everywhere! What better icon to symbolize a tie to our everyday joys and our memories, and preserving them. It is an instrument that brings us such joy and through using brings us closer to people, events, and places.
The first was very special for me as I turned the vignette into a 30th birthday card/vignette for my beautiful daughter who celebrated a milestone birthday last week. I am happy to report back that she was thrilled with it.
I chose to use pale grey and blush pink papers and flowers as she has that colour scheme running throughout her flat. She became a proud homeowner last year. I think it will look pretty displayed as a little keepsake somewhere in her home.
I also made a little presentation box to pop the vignette/card into:-
I used my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to foil a couple of the inserts, and painted some little wooden embellishments (numerals and the heart embellishments) in white gesso to add texture. I thought the idea of adding a chain and a little decorative tassel was really cute too.
Designer Tip: I used some decorative eyelets to reinforce the holes on my pull out inserts. This will ensure that the holes that hold the ribbon tags will not weaken over time.
This is my second project. I took a plain photo album and gave it some special treatment. I felt that the camera was just perfect for this, which I intend to gift to someone special (who just happens to be a great little photograher!!)
I had great fun putting these two projects together and I know that I will get more mileage from the dies for years to come. They will be great for masculine cards too.
