Delicate Impressions Details

We’re excited to introduce another Glimmer Hot Foil collection! The Delicate Impressions Collection has five sets of Glimmer Hot Foil Plates. The fifth set, Heart Melt Sentiments, has four unique phrases with matching dies. The other four sets are designed to create borders and accents that can be used on cards from A2 to 5 x 7-inches. Each elegant motif can be layered with itself or mix with others in the same collection or beyond.

Glimmer Hot Foil Plates are metal plates used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  Roll the Glimmer machine base through your die cut machine to deliver its beautiful design. Refer to Compatibility Charts on Spellbinders' website, to see if your machine is a match.

Our Creative Team members will showcase their creations made with the Delicate Impressions Collection today. For those of you who enjoy watercolors, we are using Jane Davenport Watercolors to highlight our projects. See if you can identify what techniques are being used!

 My Projects For Today

First up is  Amazing Paper Grace Fanfare Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plates SKU GLP-238 by Spellbinders

 

 Here is what the dies look like:  

I thought that a navy coloured card would be a perfect way to really showcase how pretty the Fanfare Borders look.  I only used one for my card.   There are three borders included in the set.  I used two of the three borders for my treat holder project.

I think the borders have a kind of Art Deco vibe which I find very stylish.  Simply foiled along the top and bottom of my landscape card, they create a beautiful frame, drawing the eye in towards the pretty topper.   Incidentially the foiled sentiment is also from the Delicate Impressions Collection.  The set is called the Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates and Dies.

I used my Jane Davenport Glitz-Sea Pallette of watercolours to create the centre panel for my card.  I applied a watercolour wash on white watercolour cardstock dropping a selection of colours, letting them spread and dry.   Once they had dried, I splattered some Gold Alcohol ink over the card before cutting a strip to use on my card.

I also created a strip for this little treat holder.   

Designer Tip:  I found that when foiling watercolour card, in order to obtain a successful foil, you need to leave it to heat for longer on the Hot Foil System than you would normally for standard card stock, due to the density of the watercolour card.
