Video Demonstration - Using Layering Dies to Create Pretty Intricate Toppers

Hi everyone

A couple of weeks ago I shared this card here on my Blog and on some other social media platforms.

I thought I would do a quick video demonstrating how quick and easy it was to put together, and here it is:-

I didn't have a pretty and intricate heart die among my stash at the time (I do now !), so I created my own using my layering heart dies and a gorgeous intricate Sizzix die.

This may be more of interest to those beginning their cardmaking journey and getting to grips with different techniques and ideas for using their dies.

Hope you enjoy it.

Stay safe peeps and ..........................."happy crafting everybody!"

Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month - Lattice Petal Foldover

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog today.

Today I am showcasing the Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the month which is the Lattice Petal Foldover set, designed by Becca Feeken.

I have two projects to share with you today, the first being this greetings card, which is a Get Well Card.  For my card I opted for a soft blue and gold colour combination on a white background.

There is an option to use the square inticate die and and its outline die for the centre,.  However, I decided to create a circular centre piece by using two of the semi-circle dies to form one full intricate circle, within a square.  Those pretty semi-circles are nice and versatile.

There is a rolled flower die in the set.  I made just the one rolled rose to add to the centre of my ribbon bow and added some little leaves, using the leafy die from the set.   In all, there are 14 cutting dies included in the set.

I added a tag, made with an old punch, and edged it with pale blue rick rack ribbon I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.  The sentiment is from the Make a Scene Sentiments photopolymer stamp set.

For my next project, I made a cute little treat holder.  This was really quick and simple to make. First I die-cut the outer intricate panel, and die cut a plain panel for the inside of the treat holder.  For both pieces, I scored the embossed lines which form the square around the centre on my scoring board, and the burnished all the straight score lines before adhering the two pieces together.  I lined the centre of the inside of my treat older with the intricate square dies included in the set.

It is worth noting, that when the box/treat holder is formed, I found that I did need to carefully trim away some overhanging inner white card stock when folding up the sides.

I made four hinges with the smallest die in the set, and these hold the treat holder together. Then in went my choccie treats.

The current Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month set is limited to the month of August only.

If you would like to find out more about the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Club, click here.  Spellbinders also run several value club options, which are available to those wishing to join several clubs at once.  To find out more, click here

Showcasing the Happy Anniversary Vignette Etched Dies by Amazing Paper Grace

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by today.

Today I am sharing a project which I made using the lovely Happy Anniversary Vignette Etched Dies which are part of the new Amazing Paper Grace Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection  designed by Becca Feeken.   The dies were kindly sent to me by Becca for design team puposes.

For those of you who may not have seen my previous posts about this new collection, these are essentially sentiment dies which can be mixed and matched with other Amazing Paper Grace vignette collections, or used as I have done here, as a focal point for a greetings card.

I created height and dimension by mounting the large circular sentiment on foam backed adhesive pads.

I have kept the design really simple so as not to detract from the pretty topper which I finished with a floral spray made with mulberry paper flowers from my crafty stash and some little die cut flowers which are from the Petite Floral Pourri etched die set.

Well that's it from me for now.  I am off to make the most of the break in the weather - we have some sunshine !!!

Take care and stay safe.   Bye for now and .................................."happy crafting everybody!"

Peeking Leaves Cover Die from Altenew - A Get Well Card

Hello my crafty friends.

Today I am sharing a card which I made to send some healing hugs to another of my lovely crafting friends.

For this card I used the Peeking Leaves Cover Die from Altenew.

I die-cut the panel in white cardstock and applied to a pastel blue background piece cut @ 5" x 4-1/4" inches.  Then  I placed the die onto a piece of gingham paper and die-cut it again.  I took large gingham top piece and inset this into the top half of my original panel, to create the gingham backdrop.

I have an old daisy punch which I have had for many years (its by X-Cut), and I used this to create some punched flowers.  I used my Altenew B002 Alcohol Marker Pen to colour some pearl embellishment which I added to the centre of my flowers.   I also added a scattering of small sparkly white mulberry paper flowers from my crafty stash.

For the sentiment I used my new Altenew Tall Alpha Dies to create the Hello in white card, offset slightly on top of black card.   Then I heat embossed the Sending Healing Hugs sentiment from my Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 photopolymer stamp set.

I created further layering panels in blue, white and black card.

I love how this card turned out and I do like the subtle colour pallette.   I hope you like it too.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please pop back for a return visit.

That's it from me for today..

Bye for now and ......................"happy crafting everybody!"

Quick and Easy Flat Bows - Using a Paperclip !

Do you struggle with bow making?

I sometimes do.

Often I need bows which I want to add embellishments to, and this can be tricky if you have a knot in your bow.   So flat bows, for me, are the way to go.

I came up with a quick and easy hack/technique yesterday using a large paperclip.  I use a paperclip which  is 1-3/4" inches long.

I made a quick video talk through - blink and you will miss it !!   It's a short and to the point video.  I hope you find it useful.   Oh, and please excuse my awful reflection in my glass mat!  I nearly decided to do the video again because of it.  I hope its not too distracting. LOL !!!

Thanks for looking.   Stay safe and ..............................happy crafting everybody !

Heartfelt Thanks Vignette Etched Dies from Amazing Paper Grace

Hi everyone and thanks for stopping by.

I hope your Sunday is going well.

Today I am sharing a card project which I made using the Amazing Paper Grace Heartfelt Thanks Vignette Etched Dies designed by Becca Feeken as part of her fabulous new Beautiful Sentiment Vignettes Collection.

I was kindly sent the dies by Becca for design team purposes.

You will note that my card is not a vignette and this demonstrates the versatility of the dies.  Being essentially sentiment dies, they do create beautiful and eye-catching toppers for your cards and 3D projects.   They can also be mixed and matched with other Amazing Paper Grace vignette collections, thus providing lots of design options.

I chose cardstock and decorative accents to match my decorative papers for this card project.   The papers are from the Mintay Birdsong 6x6 paper pad and the mulberry roses are from my crafty stash. The leafy branches are from the new Petite Floral Pourri etched die set from Amazing Paper Grace.

Have you spotted the delicate embossed background?   I used my Diamonetta Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate to emboss the pattern, which is another versatile way to use your Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

I am really thrilled with how this card turned out.  I do hope you like it too.

That's it from me for today, so bye for now and ..............................."happy crafting everybody!"

Amazing Paper Grace July Die of the Month Blog Hop – Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home

It's so true that all paths lead home.  It's during this long stint with the pandemic that many of us have come to realize that it doesn't matter where you are; it's the people you are with.  That's the inspiration that fed into the creation of the July 2021 Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month, Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.  The sentiment that comes within the set says it all - You are My Home.

There's just something so quaint and sweet about little houses.  They mean so much to us - a place of safety, a place of comfort, a place of love.  It's only fitting that one should show up as a Mini Vignette!  This card folds flat to fit into an envelope to be sent through the mail.  It beckons you to insert your favorite pictures, a multipage note or sweet nothings on the three panels that rest inside.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create:
1.  A mini scrapbook album
2.  A table centerpiece with a house on each side
3.  Separate the small house facade and use it on a card, a scrapbook layout, and beyond!

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

There are 21 dies included in the Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.

My Project Today using Pop Up 3D Vignette Home Sweet Home.

I created three little sentiment inserts for my vignette using a mix of word dies from the set, and also foiled a couple of sentiments using Glimmer Foil Plates.  These were from the More Sentiments set and also the new You Are My Home Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set.

For my next project, I die-cut the cute little house and mounted it to the front of a landscape card base.  I colour coordinated my die cuts with the decorative paper and added a tag topper with the sentiment, a few butterflies and some mulberry paper roses from my craft stash.

Thinking ahead, don't you think this set of dies would be just perfect for making Christmas cards with little candy cane styled houses?   I have so many creative ideas using the dies buzzing around in my head

A Slimline Just For You Card

Hello peeps !

I squeezed in a little time this morning to create this little slimline gem.

For my card today I used a the fabulous new Hemstitch Slimline Etched Dies by Becca Feeken, the Beautiful Day bundle of stamps and dies by Altenew, together with their Sentment Strips 2 (which I do reach for a lot!!), and also the  AltenewTall Alpha Lowercase Die Set (my favourite alphabet dies).  The background paper is from the Bohemian Blooms 12 x 12 Card Making Pad by The Paper Boutique.

So that gets today's recipe out of the way.

I used the slimline rectangles to create a neat frame for my centrepiece.

The Beautiful Day stamps are layering stamps and normally I tend to just stamp onto plain card stock, building up the layers with different colours and tones.   Today I switched it up a bit by stamping each coloured layer onto watercolour cardstock using a selection of Altenew Crisp Dye inks, and using an aqua brush to lightly apply water to each layer, finishing up by stamping in Memento Tuxedo Black Fade Resistant Dye Ink.  Then I created the sentiment using both the Tall Alpha Lowercase Dies and my Sentiment Strips 2 stamp set.

I do like making slimline cards and can see why they have been very popular.  I would love to know what is your favourite style of card.

Well that's it from me for today.  I hope you like my project.  I will be sharing it over on instagram and would love for you to follow me there if you don't already.

Bye for now and ......................."happy crafting everybody!"

Clean and Simple - Easy Peasy Greetings Card

Hello peeps

Time is whizzing by and I cannot believe it's July already!

I wanted to share a very simple card that I put together the other day.   I posted this photo on my social media:-

Then I settled down to create a card using some of the products.   I dropped the butterfly, substituting that for some mulberry paper flowers in my crafty stash and swapped out Nuvo Crystal Drops for some Nuvo Glitter Drops instead.

And ................... this is the result !

I have had the beautiful intricate Sizzix/Tim Holtz Bouquet Die for sometime now and really have been itching to do something pretty with it (its on sale now folks!).   So I die-cut it in white card stck and also die-cut a heart frame using some layering heart dies.  I die-cut a heart from the intricate piece with the larger of my pair of heart dies, and then stuck it to the reverse of my heart frame.  I backed that with a gorgeous piece of Mauve Purple Weave Textured card stock from Tonic Studios, before adhering the topper to the front of my pretty pink card base.

As I said earlier, I used some mulberry paper flowers to decorate the heart.   The two small white flowers were already sparkly with glitter, so I decided to echo that by applying some Nuvo Glitter Drops (Silver Crystals) to my little Rose.

I added some pretty gold leafy branches which are from the new Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Dies from Amazing Paper Grace.

The sentiment has been stamped and heat embossed in some Lawn Fawn Gold embossing powder.   I have to say that I really do like this embossing powder.  It is a very fine powder and produces a really super smooth and crisp embossed finish.

I love using soft pastel colours and I think these work beautifully together for this card.

Hope you likey.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bye for now.  I am off for a nice hot coffee.  See you laters!

Happy crafting everybody!

Bless Your Heart Vignette Etched Dies from Amazing Paper Grace

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

Today I am sharing a card which I created using the lovely Bless Your Heart Vignette Etched Dies which are part of the stunning new Beautiful Sentiment Vignette Etched Dies designed by Becca Feeken.  These dies were kindly sent to me for Design Team purposes.   This set can be mixed and matched with other Amazing Paper Grace Vignette Collections, providing the opportunity for lots of design options.

The sentiment is framed within a pretty curved rectangle and creates a lovely focal point.

I have used a further set of dies from the new collection, which are the Petite Floral Potpourri etched dies.   These contain an assortment of flowers in different styles and sizes and are really handy for creating pretty floral sprays/details.

The illustration below details what is included in the Bless Your Heart Vignette Etched Dies set (click the illustration for more information):-

I like this particular sentiment, as I think it would work well for many occasions/reasons for sending cards to our friends and loved ones.

I hope you like today's little creation.  Thanks for taking a look.

Bye for now and ................................"happy crafting everybody!"
