Spellbinders New Christmas Traditions Collection

Hello folks.

Today I have a couple of recent projects which I put together using Etched Dies and Glimmer Foil Plates from the new Christmas Traditions Collection by Spellbinders.

Spellbinders kindly sent me the products, in order to share some creative inspiration with you.

First up is this pretty card in a non-traditional colour combo.   I created the background using my Distress Oxide Inks and water.  The colour was blended with soft blending brushes on white card stock.  Then I simply splashed some water drops over my blended panel to lift the ink to create soft "splatters".

Once dry, I used the gorgeous Holiday Florals Hot Foil Plate to foil the Poinsettias and leafy images across my panel. I layered this on gold card and then adhered onto my white card base.

I created a big bold topper with one of the stylish sentiments from the Essential Christmas Greetings  Hot Foil Plates set.  I used my Elegant Twist Ovals Etched Dies to die-cut the sentiment.

This card was quick and easy to put together.  That's one of the reasons that I really do enjoy foiling with the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System.

Next up, I have a fun little card.  I created my "Christmas Night" theme using the cute new Through the Woods Etched Dies.

I used the die-cut Christmas bauble to frame the red pick up truck driving home with its Christmas tree bootie!

The colour for this one is quite traditional, and I love how the green, white and red colours "pop" against the black sky background.

I wanted to add some texture, so added a little satin bow to complete my card.

Well I hope you today's samples.   There are some other lovely sets included in this Chistmas Traditions Collection - something for everyone.

Thanks for stopping by, and I do hope you will pop back.

Bye for now.  Stay safe and ........................"happy crafting everybody!"

I have to say that I fell hook, line and sinker for this gorgeous project kit.  I love anything floral, but that beautiful 3D Garden Rose embossing folder just blew me away.

I have three different projects to share with you today using different products from this latest release.

I used a pearly pastel green card stock for this card and I love how the soft sheen enhances all the 3D detail.

I stamped and die cut some pretty roses and some leaves for added texture.  The flowers were stamped in Altenew Pinkalicious and Razzleberry Crisp Dye Inks, and  used Pink Diamond Crisp Dye Ink to stencil the base colour.

I created the topper for the sentiment with my Altenew Nesting Ovals Die Set.  It's a very simple design, but I happen to like uncomplicated !

The illustration below shows what is included in this month's project kit:-

Next up I have something  clean and simple.

My card is a 5" x 7" base (I think this is my favourite card size).  I cut the the white panel at 4-3/4" x 6-3/4" and then stamped on the three flowers in Altenew Obsidian Pigment Ink which gave a lovely crisp image.  Then I stamped the next layer in Pinkalicious Crisp Dye Ink.

I stencilled on my "thanks" sentiment.   I love how big and bold this sentiment looks.  It really creates an impact.

For my final card, I wanted to go for a monotone colour scheme.  Again, the base is 5" x 7" inches.

I used the embossing folder to create a blue layer, and then simply stamped and die-cut three rose using my Starlight crisp dye ink for the outlines and stamping layers in Sea Breeze and Turquoise.

I stuck my sentiment stamp in a curve onto my stamping platform and stamped the curved sentiment to reflect the arched layer of die-cut flowers.

Amazing Paper Grace October Die of the Month - Flourished Fleurit

I am back today with a card project which I made with dies kindly sent to me by Spellbinders. The dies are the Amazing Paper Grace October Die of the Month which collectively are called the Flourished Fleurit, and I happen to think they are really very pretty.  You can find out more about the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month by following the link I provided.

I used the Flourished Fleurit for the intricate background on my card. I also used the other intricate die included in the set, to back my topper. This set of dies is, indeed, very versatile.  You can snip down the main die to create pretty delicate individual corner dies for your projects.

I do like shaped cards and the outline shape for this card is very elegant.

I opted for a white intricate background combined with decorative papers in muted tones.  The flower dies I used are included in the die set.  The leaves are from the Petite Floral Potpourri Etched Die Set.

The circular topper is from the Elegant Twist Cicles Etched Dies, and my foiled sentiment is from the More Sentiments Glimmer Plates.  I use these Glimmer Plates at lot because there are lots of different, useful sentiments included.

This illustration shows you the dies included in the Amazing Paper Grace October Die of the Month:-

Spellbinders also have several Value Clubs options available for crafters who would like to join multiple clubs at once.

The FAQ (Terms and Conditions) about Spellbinder kits can be found here.

Well that's it from me for today.   I hope you like my card project. I'm very pleased with it.

Thank you for stopping by.   I would love you to pop back.

Bye for now.  Stay safe and .................................."happy crafting everybody!"

Altenew Craft-A-Flower: Primrose Blossom Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hi everyone!

Today I am very happy to be  hopping along in the Altenew Craft-A-Flower Primrose Blossom Release Blog Hop!!!

Thanks to the lovely Ishani for linking to my post today.   Next on the list is  Nenette S. Modero. So, you can hop along to her post by clicking my link, or you can head over direct to the Altenew Blog where this hop is being hosted, and start right from the beginning for lots of inspiring ideas for using this delightful set.

Altenew release their Craft-A-Flower Layering Dies on a monthly subscription, so there are lots of different flowers alreaady in the collection.  With each set you can create multi-layered floral arrangements.

I decided to go clean and simple with mine; so -  no stamping, just die-cutting and lots of white space.   Those pretty little primroses can be made up in lots of different colour combinations.   I opted for simple yellow and red/cerise with a touch of orange.

I decide to create a simple topper using the Party Banner Die, and added a sweet satin bow for more texture.

I think the banner shows off the little primroses beautifully.

Altenew kindly sent me this set in order to share some creative inspiration.  I love the concept - putting the flowers together is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle and I love jigsaws !

The set comes with a handy guide to show you how to assemble the flowers, and the illustration below shows the differing dies/layers included with the set.

Altenew Rustic Charm Stamp/Die/Stencils/Embossing Folders/Washi Tape/Brush Marker/Fine Mister Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Hello and welcome to today's blog post.

This Hop celebrates Altenew's new release and we will all be sharing lots of ideas for the products.  There are details of Free Gifts and also a fabulous Giveaway.   Be sure to hop along with us.

Thank you to the super talented Sande Woodson for directing you hereNext up is the lovely Amy Hill.  Alternatively you can begin this hopping journey directly from the Altenew Card Blog.  The full list of blog hop participants can be found below.

I have five different projects to share with you today using different products from this latest release.

First up is this 5" x 7" greeting card.  I love love love layering floral stamp sets and this one doesn't disappoint.  I have used the beautiful Whirlwind Flowers Stamps and Die Bundle.

I created a top panel measuring 4-3/4" x 6-3/4".  I stamped and die-cut a selection of flowers and leaves and placed them on the left-hand edge, cutting away any excess overhang.  All the flowers are die cut and layered, creating dimension and texture.  For the sentiment I also used my Tall Alpha and coordinating Tall Alpha Lowercase Dies.

For the blue flowers I used Dew Drops, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue and Chamomile Crisp Dye Inks, and for the pink flowers I used Baby Pink, Pinkalicious, Rubellite and Sunray.  The leaves were stamped in Limeade and Lime.

For my next card I used the pretty new True Friends Bundle.  I opted for a lilac colour palette with gold accents.  I used a stamp positioner stamping my images first in a pale outline and colouring in each heart shaped leaf using my Altenew Artist Marker pens in R705, R823 and R926.  I then placed the panel back in my stamp positioner and re-stamped the outline in Versafine and gold embossing powder and then heat embossed. I added gold mirror card and white card layers before adhering to the card base.

What I really like about the stamp set is that there are lots and lots of different, useful sentiment stamps, as well as several different pretty leafy motifs.

For this next project I used the super new Sunflower Bundle Botanical 3D Embossing Folder.

The embossing folder is 6x6 inches, but for my card I did cut my embossed watercolour card piece down to 4-5/8" square.  I wanted a very subtle colour palette for this one and opted for soft pastel yellows, greens, blue and pale brown.

I used my Altenew Watercolour Six Pan Set, creating a wash and then dropping in the colours to the big bold sunflowers, leaves and created a mottled blue sky background.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white.   This is from the new Floral Halo's Outline Stamp Set, which I have also used for my next project.

My husband really likes this card - he says it's very Van Goghesque !

I referred to the new Floral Halo stamp set above.  Well I used the Floral Halo Bundle of stamps and dies for this next card.

I will be very honest, in that I cannot remember exactly which of my die inks I use to stamp the outline flowers ! But I do remember the Altenew Marker Pens I used to colour in my floral images.  They were R303, R318, B802 and Y205.

I created the circular topper using stamps and dies from the set and used foam back adhesive pads on the reverse to create depth and dimension.  I also stamped and die-cut some flowers to place around the topper.

For my final card project, I have a festive Christmas card in a monotone colour palette of soft blues on a white watercolour card panel.  For this simple card I used the super cute new Bells and Bows Add-On Stamps and Die Bundle.

I really do like the kind of 3D stamped effect you get using the two layering bell stamps.   I set the die-cut bells on a round topper, again made using the Floral Halos Bundle.  I created a soft blue watercolour wash for the background and added some light splatters and white irridescent sequins for a bit of Christmas sparkle.  I also added the small blue satin bow for more texture.  I stamped on the sentiment and also used my Tall Alpha and Tall Alpha Lowercase dies for the word "Season".

I love all the new products I used for these projects and I hope you like my ideas for using them.  I love the release because there are so many different types of products to choose from and I personally found it incredibly hard to choose which ones I was going to use for this hop.   I am very happy with my choices.   Altenew very kindly provided me with the new release products I have used today, but I am sure I will be making a few sneaky purchases to add to my growing stash.

I would love to know which of the products has caught your eye.

Merry Stitchmas from Spellbinders ! Not just for Christmas !

Hi folks

I am back today with a couple of cards that I would like to share, which I made using dies from Spellbinders' new Merry Stitchmas Collection.  These dies were kindly sent to me by Spellbinders for sharing some creative inspiration.

First up, I have a slimline Christmas Card which showcases the really lovely Sparkling Mandala dies.

As the name of the collection implies, these dies are just perfect if you like to indulge in a little stitching/embroidery.

I used the Sparkling Mandala as the focal point for this card, coordinating some blue lurex thread with my blue card stock.   I am not really into embroidering on fabric, but I really did find this little exercise to be really quite therapeutic !!

Once completed, I mounted the Mandala on my slimline base.   For that I used the lovely Hemstitch Slimline Dies. The silver foiled sentiment is from the Elegant Holiday Glimmer Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate

It was nice to craft differently, using thread instead of stamps - another little string to my bow, if you will pardon the pun !

Next up, I made a card using the gorgeous Diamond Stitched Etched Dies.  These dies are one row of diamond shapes with holes suitable for stitching.   You will see that I have not used any threads for this card.   I wanted to use them to create a background of rows of diamonds in complimentary pastel shades.  I also wanted to create a pretty shape along the bottom of my card.

These dies really created a beautiful background for my card and I lovely the result.   I created a focal point using the Spellbinders Lace Hearts which I recently treated myself to.  I thought the edging on the heart complimented the Diamond Stitched Dies beautifully.   The sentiment is from the  Heart Felt Sentiments Glimmer Foil Plates, which are on sale at the moment.

I have to say that the concept for stitching these dies is a really clever one, which I do think will have an appeal with those who do like stitching, but is not limited to that alone, as my second card idea hopefully illustrates.

Thanks for stopping peeps.  Please pop back.

Bye for now and ...................."happy crafting everybody!"

Altenew Build-A-Flower : Laelia Release Blog hop + Giveaway ($200 in total prizes)

Hello everyone.

Today I feel very excited and privileged to be participating in this Altenew Build-A-Flower Laelia Release Blog Hop.

Altenew are hosting this blog hop and you can hop on over to the Altenew Card Blog to start this fun hop or follow the list at the bottom of this post.

And .......  there are prizes up for grabs along the way!

If you are not familiar with the Build-A-Flower concept, put simply, it is a monthy floral stamp layering series, available as a subscription service.

The Build-A-Flower Laelia Release

Bring sunshine to your projects with some magnificent florals. In this set, you will find an outline image & six coloring layers for the flower and three layers for the leaves & stem - they will bring this gorgeous flower to life! We have also included two leafy branches and a variety of versatile sentiments so you can get the most out of this set!

For my 5" x 7" inch card I have three card layers - the top layer (4-5/8" X 6-5/8") with my stamped and die cut images, the black layer (4-3/4" X 6-3/4") for contrast and finally my card base.

I stamped the outline stem in Mangrove Root.  For stamp B2 I stamped the full colour in Marshland, then B3(1) in Seaforest and B3(2) again in Marshland.

For my Flower 4(2) I used Pink Diamond, followed by A3 in Pinkalicious, A4 in Rubelitte, A7 in Razzleberry, A5 in Sunray and A6 in Margueriete.

For clarity,  the stamp numbers for each layer that I have mentioned, appear on the stamp package adjacent to each image.

In order to create great dimension for my die-cut flower which is the focal point of my card, I also die-cut a flower in black card stock and then offset this beneath my stamped and die-cut flower.

I created a cute little sentiment tag stamped with Obsidian Pigment Ink for a crisp and clear finish, which I threaded with linen thread and adhered across the front.

I really like the subtleness of this colour combination and I really do love this set.  The illustration below shows you the stamp set in detail:-

The set also includes a helpful layering guide-

So that's it from me.  I do hope you like my card project.   Thank you for stopping by.  You will have arrived here via the super talented Bridget Casey   Next stop on our hop is the lovely Pretti Chandran.
