More Ornamental Bliss from Altenew - This Time Using Embossed Resist Technique

Hi folks

A couple of days ago I shared my first attempt at using the Ornamental Bliss bundle and was really pleased with my efforts.

I wanted to try out a technique which I haven't used in a while, which is the emboss resist technique, whereby you clear emboss a design on a blank piece of card stock and then use a blending tool to blend colour over it.

I used a beautiful pearly blue card base which is Caribbean Sea Pearlescent Card from Tonic Studios and then selected some Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in shades of teal and blue which I applied to the card surface using my blending brushes.    Once I was happy with the application, I rubbed over the surface with kitchen roll, to remove any excess ink.

I like the muted tones of blue and teal.  I should add that I also stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, which I dried off using my embossing heat tool before stamping over it again with Clear Versamark, before heat embossing with clear embossing powder.  I did that prior to blending on the ink.

I do have a couple more designs to share using the Ornamental Bliss Bundle, so I do hope you will join me for that.

Bye for now and ..........................."happy crafting everybody!".

Ornamental Bliss Card

Ranking high among my favourite craft brands is Altenew.  I love their layering florals.

The Ornamental Bliss Stamp and Die set caught my eye just before Christmas and went on my Christmas Wish List.

Luckily my lovely daughter came up trumps and I found the bundle among my Christmas presents.

So here is my first go at using the set.

I have done a video demo, but unfortunately I am having a lot of trouble with my video software at the moment, so that one is waiting patiently to get the final tweak.

I do love bright colours on a black background.  I used my Spectrum Noir Classique Alcohol Marker Pens and Lawn Fawn Gold Embossing Powder for the focal point.

The Ornamental Bliss stamp set is a layering set for those of you who like creating different layers.  But for this card I just went with the single pretty half mandala stamp from the set.

Hope you like it - I love how it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will pop back.

Bye for now folks, and ..................................."happy crafting everybody!".

Amazing Paper Grace January 2021 Die of the Month - Not Just a 3D Vignette Valentine's Mailbox

Hi everyone
You may have already seen cards made by the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team, when we all hopped at the beginning of the month to bring you different ideas on how to use the lovely January Die of the Month.

I will add a few photos at the end of this post of my cards from that hop.  If you click the link above, you can recap on cards made by the rest of the creative team,

There is a really pretty intricate die in the set which I thought I would use as a decorative background for today's card.

My intention today is to demonstrate the versatility of this pretty set of dies.

For Details of the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Membership
click the illustration above

I have added a pretty floral spray to my card in the form of shaped vellum flowers which were made using dies from the Cinch and Go Flowers III Etched Dies.  I added some little mulberry paper roses from my stash.

I also used the Amazing Paper Grace January 2021 Die of the Month to add a pretty focal point for the sleeve of my triangular treat box.

I hope you like my alternative ideas for using the Mini 3D Vignette Valentine's Mailbox dies.

I said I would share a few photos of my designs used for the January APG Die of the Month Blog Hop, so here you go:-

That's it from me for today.  Thanks for stopping by and please do pop back.

Christmas Dies are Not Just for Christmas ! A Pretty Faceted Gift Box Using Holly Frame Gala Etched Dies by Amazing Paper Grace

Hi peeps !

It's flipping freezing here in the UK today with lots of snow about, so I am sitting in my cosy craft room with a nice warm mug of coffee.

Have your heard about the Amazing Paper Grace Creative Encouragement Community page on Facebook?   I'm sure if you are a Becca Feeken fan you will have done.

Well, today I am sharing a step by step pictorial in the group for this pretty little faceted bird box/gift box, and if you would like to know how to make one, why not join me there?

I used a Christmas die set for this together with the Borders and Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates which I used to emboss a pretty design on the edges of my box.   Just goes to prove that the Holly Frame Gala Etched Dies are versatile for any occasion, and that glimmer hot foil plates can be used for something other than foiling.

Hope you like my latest little design.

I am off to rustle up some more creative projects for my YouTube Channel.

Thanks for stopping by today.   Please pop back again.

Ciao for now and ..........................."happy crafting everybody!"

Filigree Quartet Etched Dies from Amazing Paper Grace

I do love an intricate die-cut, and I also happen to love making smaller cards.  The Filigree Quartet Etched Dies design by Becca as part of her Picot Petite Collection, lends itself beautfully to this.

My card is a 5 x 5 inch card and the Filigree Quartet dies fill this space perfectly.

I used Centura Pearl card stock as I do love a pearly sheen.   The sentiment has been framed using the Picot Petite Squares Etched Dies from the same collection.  I really like using dainty wooden elements to add further texture.

The Filigree Quartet dies are very versatile.  For my box I used two of the intricate dies from the set to create a lovely topper.

I used my Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates for the sentiment and set this on an oval base, which is from the Spellbinders Essential Ovals set of dies.

I have included an illustation below of what is included in the Filigree Quartet Etched Dies:-

Well that's it from me for today.   Hope you like my pretty pink projects (how's that for a bit of alliteration!!).

Thanks for stopping by and please pop back again.

Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting everybody!".

Diamonetta Background Glimmer Hot Foil Plate - I Used It To Emboss Without Foiling Too !!

Who knew ?   Maybe I am bit late to the party, but I have just discovered that not only can I use my foil plates to beautifully foil images on my cards, but I can use them to emboss designs too!

I used the lovely Diamonetta Background Hot Foil Plate for today's projects.   I foiled the centre panel for my card, and then set about deciding how best to show it off.   Then it hit me - "why not try embossing with my Diamonetta plate without using foil too"?  It was a little "light-bulb" moment for me and I quickly set about experimenting.

I am delighted to report that I managed to obtain a really good crisp and sharp embossed image.   All I did was use the plate from my hot foil system when it had cooled down after foiling, and placed my card stock down directly on the plate added the hot foil plate face down and covered with the two other plate accessories from the system and ran it cold through my Platinum 6 and ...... voila !

I then assembed the card using my Elegant Twist Ovals Etched Dies and my Heart Melt Sentiments Hot Foil Plates for the topper and sentiment, along with some mulberry paper roses.   The swirly die is from my Candlewick Rosebud Etched Dies.

I also made a simple cubed shaped treat box and used some weeny foiled centre panels to decorate some decorative squares.  For the squares I used my Elegant Twist Squares Etched Dies.

Well I had a super time coming up with these little projects.   I do hope you like them and I hope you will join me again here on my blog.

Thanks for looking.

Stay safe.  Bye for now and .........................."happy crafting everybody!".

A 3D Card - With The Party Time Gift of Giving Clear Stamp Set designed by Helz Cuppleditch

I love cute stamps and I am so proud to be supporting British stamps.  I have a love of many many different brands from abroad and over the pond, but it's so lovely to support those right here on my home turf.

I bought this cute little Party Time set of stamps back in the summer when I discovered  illustrations by Helz Cuppledtich for Craft Consortium.  I bought a book of some beautiful papers from the same collection as this Gift of Giving stamp set.

There is something about Helz's illustrations that just makes me smile.

So yesterday I decide to put together this 3D card.

I used a selection of Spectrum Noir Classique Alcohol Markers, dies by Simply Made Crafts and papers by The Paper Boutique to put together this card.   The front section folds down and sits away from the base layer and it also folds back flat to allow postage in an A7 envelope to the recipient.

I hope you like it.

I am going to do a video demonstration for those of you who would like to see how I made it.

Thanks for stopping and looking.  I hope you will pop back.

Bye for now and ..................................."happy crafting everybody!".

Amazing Paper Grace January Die of the Month Blog Hop – Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

Remember the days in grade school when you dreamed of all the little envelopes you would collect in your pouch from Valentine's Day?  Well, we gotcha covered! Today I am introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for January 2021, the Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these wonderful dies to create with.

Sweet hearts and petite envelopes are a symbol of love.  The Amazing Paper Grace Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox harkens back to the days where you thought that the number of envelopes measured how loved you were.  No worries, this elegant mailbox holds a bouquet of enveloped surprises and is a clever way to hide some cute little messages.  Oh, and the front of the mailbox opens!  Becca uses the inspiration from a vintage mailbox as the basis for this elegant representation where romantic and cute go hand in hand.

Don't worry if you don't have a sweetheart this year.  After the holiday, this set can be used as a blue mailbox.  Did you notice it is a mini-sized 3D Vignette?! Built just like the grand sized vignettes that came before it, this little mini stands 4.75-inches tall and folds flat for mailing to your sweetheart!

There are 17 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

I created a vignette in pretty pale pastel pink an blue with gold, pearl, wooden and mulberry flower embellishments.

I love the cute little paper envelopes and hearts in varying sizes and, of course, the intricate pattern on the front of the adoreable little mailbox.

Vignettes are such fun, but it's great to get more mileage from your dies.   I decided to make a free-standing card, die-cutting the front and the back of my card in the shape of a mail box.

This time, I went with a pretty traditional "Valentine" colour combination of red and black with gold accents.   I love how cute it looks !

Designer Tip:  I think it is important to make the reverse of the Vignette as pretty and as neat as the front, so I die-cut an extra mail box to stick on the reverse with the embossed features of the die showing up clearly.

Supplies:   Wooden hearts and mulberry paper flowers from my stash

Paper:       Centura Pearl Card Stock and Gold Mirror Card
Accessories:  Amazing Paper Grace January 2021 Die of the Month - Mini 3D Vignette Valentines Mailbox

Splendid Trilliant Etched Die - Makes a Splendid Focal Point

One of my favourite dies from recent releases by Amazing Paper Grace has to be the Splendid Trilliant Etched Die designed by Becca Feeken.

It makes for a very pretty focal point and base for card toppers.

I used it for today's projects and I love the results.

I die-cut it and layered it to create quite an elaborate topper over a foiled card layer.   I foiled the layer in rose gold foil using the Sweet Blooms Border Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.  My sentiment is from the Amazing Paper Grace Heart Melt Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set.  The rectangle topper was made with the Elegant Twist Rectangles Etched Dies.

Once the card was finished, I just had to make a pretty and simple little treat holder which shows off the beautiful intricate detail of the Splendid Trilliant etched die perfectly.

Here are some illustrations of just what is included in each set that I have used today:-
