Queen Anemone from Altenew

The Queen Anemone layering stamp set from Altenew is the latest addition to my craft stash and I have really enjoyed getting to grips with it.

I created some floral and leafy masks to make up this panel and stamped up the beautiful flowers layer by layer.  Once I finished the stamping, I used the masks and selected an Altenew Alcohol Marker Pen to fill in the blue background.   I really like the look that I managed to achieve.

For the sentiment I used my Tall Alpha Lowercase Stamp and Die Bundle together with the Altenew Sentiment Strips 2 clear photopolymer stamp set.

I am so happy with how this card turned out.  It will be on it's way to one of my craft friends very shortly.

Hope she likes it !!

That's it from me for today folks.   Thanks for stopping by and please pop back.  Oh ...... and out of interest ..... what's your favourite Altenew stamp set?

Ciao for now and ....................."happy crafting everybody!".

Fan Flower Transom Etched Dies from Stained Glass Bouquet Collection by Becca Feeken

Hi folks,

Today I am sharing a card which I made using the really pretty Fan Flower Transom Etched Dies which has been designed by Becca Feeken as part of her amazing new Stained Glass Bouquet Collection.

I have seen some lovely ways to using the dies, which entail using watercolours or inky blending, but for this project I opted to use card stock in complementary colours to make up the gorgeous fan pattern.  So I selected shades of deep pink, lilac and aqua blue which looks quite dramatic when teamed up with black card stock with gold accents.

I know that black cards can be a little devisive.   Some people love them, others dont.   Personally, I am big fan.

I have chosen to use one element from this set of dies.   It was rather like putting together a mini jigsaw, filling in all the spaces with different colours.  I love how it creates a pretty border.  My card is A6.  Below is an illustration from the Spellbinder's website which shows what is included in the complete set-

I have stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, which is included in the Make a Scene Sentiments photopolymer stamp set, also designd by Becca.

I actually think that this set is my favourite from Becca's Stained Glass Bouquet Collection.  Which is your favourite?  I'd love to kbow.

Well that's it from me for today.   Hope you like the way I have used the dies.  Thanks for stopping by and please do pop back.

Bye for now and ...................."happy crafting everybody!".

Introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Stained Glass Floral Bouquet

It's a miracle that little painted shards of glass can come together to create such beauty!!  The intriguing lure of Stained Glass has inspired artisans from around the world to try their hand at shuffling colors and shuffling shards of glass to create something lovely to gaze upon.  Today we are introducing the newest Amazing Paper Grace collection called Stained Glass Floral Bouquet, created for Spellbinders.

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Inspiration

Becca says that the inspiration for the collection came from her love of stained glass and never being able to muster the time to do it with real glass.  Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too?  Now it's easy to create with paper!  It's amazing how you can give the same outline to a hand full of different artists and each will come up with a totally different look.

Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Collection

The Stained Glass Floral Bouquet Collection is made up of 7 different die sets.  They are sized for layering and include small designs all the way up to A7 designs with different frames that can make both A2 and A7 designs.  The collection boasts shadow dies for each set so that whenever you don't want a multicolor design, you can layer your "die-cut leading" onto one color.  The hallmark of the collection is a sweet stained glass flower and shadow in almost every set.  That gives you a background die and a central motif for each set.

Attention "technique junkies" this collection is sweetly serenading you to try your favorite technique with the leading and the shards.

     Here are ours:

  1. Fill each opening with a different color paper and add Glossy Accents.
  2. Ink on a hombre background before resetting your shards.
  3. Add a smidge of color in each opening with a Copic Marker.
  4. Use a different color leading - white, black, gold, silver.
  5. Build up tall leading with 4 layers and adhesive in between each.

My Projects for Today

I'm using S6-171 the Wistful Window Etched Dies

I think this collection is very cleverley named and I really wanted to created a stained glass effect for this card project.   I decided to do a blended background panel using a selection of distress oxide inks in a range of complimentary colours,  which really do blend beautifully using an assortment of make-up blending brushes.

I thought I would leave the card under embellished because I really wanted the stained glass window to be the star of the show.   So I just created a simple topper using the Elegant Twist Ovals Etched Dies.  The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the new Celebration Scene Etched Dies.

For my box project I did some very subtle blending of complimentary distress oxide inks on a pearly pastel green card stock.   I started with the darkest shade along each edge blending in a subtle green distress oxide ink towards the centre.   I used the same two shades to add colour the foliage among the flowers on the top of my box.

I foiled the sentiment which is from the Borders and Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plates.

The flowers for this box project were made using the Grand Cinch and Go Flowers Etched Dies.

Designers Tip: I like to create extra dimension for my projects by die-cutting intricate top layers twice and offsetting the bottom one slightly, as demonstrated for my card project.

New Amazing Paper Grace Cozy House Scene Etched Dies - a New Home Slider Card

Hi everyone - gosh it's chilly here this morning !

I have a project to share with you today which was made using the pretty Cozy House Scene Etched Dies designed by Becca Beeken as part of her new Make A Scene Collection.

The Make a Scene Collection has been designed for making 3D/interactive cards, although of course, you can also use the dies to make traditional non-interactive cards if you wish.

The slider cards measure 5 x 7 inches when closed.

Pull it open to reveal a pretty scene.  This set is perfect for creating cards to send to proud new home owners.

There are three layers within the slider - the "Home Sweet Home" layer at the back, then the cute little house, and for the front layer of tulips I did use another Make a Scene set of dies, which is the Perfect Window Scene Etched Dies.   That's the versatility of this collection.  You can mix and match sets to create unique cards.

You can check out the complete collection by clicking on the link below-

Well that's it from me for today.  Than you for stopping by.  I hope that you will pop back again.

Bye for now and ........................."happy crafting everybody!".

Wedded Bliss Scene Etched Dies from Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken - A Wedding Slider Card

As I put together today's project I could not get that good old tune "I'm Getting Married In the Morning!" out of my tiny mind!

I do like making wedding and engagement cards and this one was no exception.

Becca sent me her fabulous new Make a Scene Collection and I have been having a ball with it.

I used the Wedded Bliss Scene Etched Dies and chose a rather classic navy white and gold colour pallette for my card.  I love the elaborate "Mr and Mrs" die-cut sentiment which forms the back panel of the scene.  Becca has come up with the idea of creating a shaped halo to echo the font and it looks fab.  I added a little die-cut garland on this panel too.

The pretty wedding gazebo is the next layer, followed by the sweet little bride and groom for the front layer.

I have used other dies from the collection too, in the form of the golden trellis gate behind the "Special Day" banner.    The trellis gate is from the "Cozy Home Scene Etched Dies" and the banner comes complete with the Make A Scene Card Base Etched Dies.

The Special Day gold embossed sentiment is from the new Make A Scene Sentiments photopolymer stamp set, as it the "The Fairy Tale Begins" stamped and embossed sentiment on the reverse of the card.

I used the handy Elegant Adornments Make A Scene Etch Dies for the reverse of the card and you may just spot that I also used it on the front too, along with the pretty intricate frame from the Scallop Facade Frame Etched Dies.

That's the lovely thing about this whole collection.   You can mix and match and swap bits from each of the sets to create unique scenes,

Well I hope you like my little offering for today.  You can view the complete new Make A Scene Collection by following this link:-

Rolling Along Scene Etched Dies from the Make A Scene Collection by Becca Feeken

Well now - what fun I had putting together this cute slider card!

I was sent the lovely Rolling Along Scene Etched Dies by Becca which are part of her fabulous new Make a Scene Colletion.

I love all the cute little elements included in this set.

Click illustration for more info.

I wanted to create a summery scene and chose a soft colour pallet.  I love the bicycle which you can customise however you wish.   I had to include the cute little bunny !   Just think - with Easter on the way, you could create a really cute Easter themed card with this set, with little bunnies popping up from behind the grass.   If you look further at the Spellbinders illustration, you might just make out a dog and cat silhouette too, along with some little garden pots.

I framed my slider with another set from the new collection, which is the Scallop Facade Frame Etched Dies

The great thing about this new collection is that you can mix and match elements from all the sets to make a unique creation.

This really is a super little set and I hope you like today's little offering.

Thank you for visiting and I would love you to pop back.

Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting everybody!"

Amazing Paper Grace March Die of the Month Blog Hop – Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

It doesn't take many steps past February to begin to ache for the stirrings of spring.  Blooming flowers are the earliest sign and we have something to get you started.  Today I'm introducing the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for March 2021, Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar.

Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace sent me these lovely dies to create with.

Imagine kicking rocks as you walk down a sweet rural road, on one of the first days the weather hints that the seasons are starting to change.  You pick wildflowers and rush home to put them into a jar of water to keep them perky for the days to come.  This is the inspiration that struck Becca when she put together the flower and mason jar combination.  It's so cute and sweet!!

This easy to assemble mason jar can contain anything, but today it holds layered flowers.  This flat side look is just like a real bouquet.  Glue them or layer them with foam tape to make a dramatic statement.  The mason jar can be left solid or cut like a frame for a shaker card the stems are simply threaded through each lid to secure them for arrangement.  If you're partial to flat cards, use the filigree band with two brads to hold your stems! This makes a lovely card front bouquet, complete with stems.

There are 16 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Floral Mason Jar

I wanted to make something bright and bold and really enjoyed making something with a real burst of colour.   I really love the different flower dies in this Die of the Month kit.  I added a little bit of extra depth to the colour on some of the plain coloured flowers with some Alcohol Marker Pens.

I think this set is so very versatile.   I used the mason jar on the front of this simple treat box and I think it looks really cute !   It's such a great way to gift some sweet treats.

Designer Tip:  I used clear acetate for both of my projects.  Acetate can be a bit tricky to work with.  It can attract finger prints, glue etc.   I tend to cover both sides with bits of paper once they have been cut to size to keep them dust free and mark free until I am ready to put everything together.

Supplies:

Stamps:   Bright Rosa "Beautiful Words"
Paper:      Strawberry Cupcake from The Paper Boutique
Foil:          Glimmer Foil GLF-025 from Spellbinders

Layering Stencils from Altenew - Such Fun !

I loved making this card.

I recently ordered the fabulous Flower Bunch Simple Layering Stencil Set by Altenew and couldn't wait to get creating with it.

I'm not going to lie, I did find the four different sheets of stencil a little daunting upon opening the pack, but I settled back and watched a few video demonstrations on YouTube and then just dived in.

I made my selection of Altenew Dye Inks and wiled away some creative time designing this card.

I find that stencils are becoming a big part of my craft stash.  They can be used as attractive backgrounds as well as for beautiful focal points for your cardmaking.   This one is really very pretty.

I have to say that I was rather self-indulgent, because I also treated myself to the fabulous Tall Alpha Lowercase stamp set and die bundle.   I love how slimline the letters are.  They don't dominate the design but add elegance.

The "Let's Celebrate" sentiment is from the Sentiment Strips 2, also by Altenew.

Well I do hope you like today's little offering.  I have to say that I am thrilled with it.

Thanks for looking.   Please pop back.

Bye for now and .............................."happy crafting everybody!".
