A Little Birdie Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from Sweet Cardlets II Collection by Becca Feeken

Hello hello !

It's a beautiful day here in the UK.  Perfect sunshine for a Bank Holiday weekend.   So what better than to share a sweet and summery card creation with you today.

I have put together this cute little birdie birthday card using the new A Little Birdie Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set which was kindly sent to me by Becca as part of my Design Team goodies.   It's so lovely to get to design using new products, and I do believe that this lovely set is going to be very popular.

I do love to foil and for this one I used Black Glimmer Foil (GLF-010) from Spellbinders.

I foiled the floral reef onto white card stock and then die cut it as a topper using the Picot Petitle Circles etched dies.   I used some alcohol markers to colour in the wreath before die cutting two further circles in black and pink card stock and offsetting them beneath to the top layer.

The cute little bird is also from the hot foil plate and die set.  I mounted my die cut birdie on black card stock to create a nice black shadow, before mounting it on foam adhesive backed tape and adhering to my topper.

Click photo illustration for further details

I used mulberry paper roses from my craft stash to add further texture and dimension.

The decorative background die is from the Wistful Windows Etched Die set.  I die cut this before foiling the sentiment, which is also from the Little Birdie Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set.

I would love to know what you think of my card, so please feel free to leave me a comment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bye for now everyone and ..........................."happy crafting!".

Shine Your Light Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set from the Sweet Cardlets II Collection by Becca Feeken

Hi peeps !

Hot off the back of yesterday's fabulous Amazing Paper Grace Creative Team Blog Hop, today I am showcasing another of the Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die sets from  Becca Feekens new Sweet Cardlets II Collection.    The set I am using today is the Shine Your Light Glimmer Hot Foil Platee and Die Set.   If you struggle with masculine themed cards, then I hope that this set will inspire some lovely nautical/seascape scenes.

I opted for a traditional blue and gold colour combination for this card, which I think looks pretty smart.

I also opted to make another slimline card.  These are proving to be so popular right now and I am thrilled that Becca has added the fab new Hem Stitch Slimline Etched Dies to the Sweet Cardlets II Collection.  I used a couple of them to make a nice frame for my focal point for this project.

You may just spot that I created a very subtle textured surround to the beautiful gold rays.  I used the Picot Petite Circles Etched Dies for this together with the Spellbinders Standard Circle, LG die set.

I really like the sentiment that forms part of Shine Your Light Glimmary Hot Foil Plat and Die Set.  It's quite inspirational.

This is an illustration of what is included in the set:-

I know that the creative team has been very excited by the new Sweet Cardlets II Collection.  There really are some lovely sets and they are perfect if you are fan of foiling - which I am.   My Hot Foil Glimmer System is working overtime at the moment and I am loving every moment.

So that's it from me on yet another wet and windy May day here in the UK.

Take care of yourselves.  Thanks for looking and ................................"happy crafting everybody!".

Introducing Amazing Paper Grace | Sweet Cardlets II

Last October we introduced Cardlets and they are back in Sweet Cardlets II!  A "Cardlet" is a small character motif that comes with a sentiment that fits within a  3 x 3 area and has a matching die.  It just so happens that this size is perfect for the ever-popular Slimline Cards.  Join us in introducing a new slimline as well - Hemstitch Slimline  - it will match Hemstitch Rectangles and all of the other Hemstitch Classics.

I am thrilled to partner with Amazing Paper Grace to bring you this little taste of inspiration!

Sweet Cardlets are just like stamps, but they are metal plates used in the Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to transfer foil to paper through a combination of heat and pressure.  The Glimmer machine base is rolled through your die-cut machine to deliver that pressure. (Compatibility charts on the Spellbinders website)

The Inspiration behind Sweet Cardlets II

Since we are premiering the first Slimline Card Die for the Amazing Paper Grace line of dies, we wanted you to have plenty of sweet elements that fit onto the slimline.  The small motif 3" x 3" footprint makes this easy.  Add to that there is a matching die it makes for a cute pop of dimension on all of your cards - Slimline, A2 or A7.

Always mindful of the budget, Becca wanted to create a collection where each set is all you need to make a little card.  Sweet Cardlets are small motifs with a 3" x 3" footprint.  Sweet Cardlets also fit into the Cascade Card Base and work along with all of the Shadowbox Dies.

My Projects for Today

I made a landscape aspect slimline card using the really sweet Deer Friend Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set.

I love the little floral headdress on the foiled image of the little deer and decided to give it a little 3D look by adding some little die-cut flowers.   I used some flowers and leaves from the Amazing Paper Grace May Die of the Month to further enhance my card, together with a few mulberry paper flowers from my craft stah.

The topper background is from the Snowflake Splendor Etched Die set

These are the dies that are included in the Deer Friend Glimmer Hot Foil and Die Set:-

I really think this little set is delightful and is my personal favourite from the new collection.

I decided to make and decorate a simple little box.

Again, I used some mulberry paper flowers from my stash to decorate the headdress.  If you follow me, you may have noticed my fondness for pink and gold girly projects and this one is no exception.   I used the Elegant Twist Squares Etched Dies for the background.  The box measures 3-3/4 square to give you an idea of the size and is 1-1/4" deep.

To make the box:-

Card stock measures 10" x 7-1/8" inches.

Long side score @ 1-1/8" 4-3/4", 5-7/8" and 9-1/2" inches
Short side score @ 5/8", 1-1/4", 5-3/8" and 6-1/2" inches.

Cut away the sections marked with a pink cross in the photo illustration below:-

Cut down the four square corner sections indicated in the photo below, round off edges of the closing flaps, add double sided tape where indicated:-

Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Façade Frame Etched Dies - A Beautiful and Intricate Background Die

Hello crafty friends.

Today I have a pretty card to share with you, which I made to showcase the beautiful Filigree Facade Frame Etched Dies.  These dies form part of the Make A Scene Collection designed by Becca Feeken, which she kindly sent to me to use.

The large intricate die-cut background provides the perfect delicate backdrop for cards and 3D projects.  I used it here to support an equally pretty set of dies called the Double Halo Oval Etched Dies.

I am very partial to feminine pink and white cards, and decided to offset this colour scheme with accents of gold.

The pink mulberry paper roses are from my crafty stash, as is the wooden heart, which was originally white.   I coloured it with a pink alcohol marker pen and heat set some glitter to make it sparkle; another little feminine touch.  The gold leafy dies are from this month's Amazing Paper Grace May Die of the Month which are proving to be very useful for adding pretty leafy texture to my cards.

Again, as with my last post, it just goes to show how mixing and matching dies from different die sets can create some pretty and unique designs.  None of your designs need ever look the same because variety is the spice of life!

I love the Filigree Facade Frame Etched Dies.  They are the perfect base if you enjoy making 5x7 greetings cards.

Well that's it for today folks.  Thanks for looking !

Stay safe and stay crafty.

Be for now.

A Personalised Birthday Card

Hi everyone.

Today I am sharing a personalised birthday card that I made recently.

I was sent some Paper Discovery products a little back when I was a member of the Craft Stash Design team.  I really do love the Lost in Music Wind Instuments Die Set which I coordinated with the thank You For The Music Stamp Set 2, also by Paper Discovery for this card

The cute "musical" hearts are from the Amazing Paper Grace January Die of the Month set, the Mini 3D Vignette Valentine's Mailbox.

I personalised my card with Ross's name, and for this I used my Altenew Fine Alphabet Dies.   I'll be honest, I forget which stamp set I used for the words gold embossed "Happy Birthday".    I guess you could call it a "senior moment!"

So there you have it folks; a card made with a range of products by some great brands.  I think its great to mix and match what you have in your craft stash, combining brands to create unique cards.

Hope you like it.  Ross did !

Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting everybody""

Picture Perfect Window Scene Etched Dies from Make a Scene Collection by Becca Feeken

Hi everyone

Gosh - doesn't Sunday come around quickly !

Today I am sharing another project made using dies from the stunning Make a Scene Collection, kindly sent to me by Becca Feeken.

Today's project is my take on a cute little birdhouse style treat box, carton style.   I have used dies from the Picture Perfect Window Scene Etched Dies; primarily the window die, flowers and the sentiment die.  The dimensions of the box are 2"x2" inches square for the main body of the box.

The photos below give scorelines and instructions:-

Cardstock measures 8-1/2" x 5-7/8" inches

Long side score @ 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches

Short side score @ 5/8, 1-7/8 and 3-7/8 inches

Place the long side back along the top of the score board and notch on the first horizontal line @ 3 and 7 inches.

Score diagonal lines as shown in purple in the photo below:-

Burnish all score lines and snip up all the blue serrated lines. Apply double sided tape to the narrow right hand margin. Your template will look like this.

The diagonal score lines should be inverted.

Box template will look like this

Fold in the bottom sides and stick the base together.

The completed template will look like this:-

I cut four decorative panels for the sides of the box measuring 1-7/8"x 1-7/8" inches.  I also cut two pieces to decorate the top slopes measuring 2"x 1-3/4" inches and added another little sliver of kraft cardstock (2" inches wide) to each of the edges of the roof to complete.

These are the dies included in the Picture Perfect Window Scene Etched Die set:-

Well that's it from me for today.  I do hope you like this project.  I have had fun putting it together.

Thanks for stopping by and please do pop back again sometime.

Bye for now.

Amazing Paper Grace May Die of the Month Blog Hop – Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate

You can tell that around here, we adore spring and the prospect of blooming flowers. This month we invite you to take an idyllic stroll to a place of beauty. It calls and beckons to you, to come and sit down and enjoy your surroundings and all of the nature around you. Today I'm introducing a beautiful new Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month.  The way in . . . is through the Garden Gate. Introducing the beautiful new Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month for May 2021, Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate.

Dies for my creations today were supplied by Amazing Paper Grace.

This A7 showpiece folds flat into an envelope, only to expand and sit on a desktop where it invites the lucky recipient to take a stroll through the Garden Gate. As always, this die is meant to break apart and use the dies separately.  The elements are less than 4" wide and are begging you to use them on an A2 card. You'll love the charming details - hinges, a hook lock and a swinging sign to record your message.

Here are some ideas that might inspire you to create a flat card or box:

1.  The picket fence for a gatefold card (hint the gate really opens).
2.  The Arches for a wedding.
3.  The flowers and vines are curved to fit the arch but also make a wreath.
4.  A picket fence box and the arches for handles.

Inviting you to plan your own garden and know you are in a place of peace and beauty when you come in through the Garden Gate.

There are 15 dies included in the Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate.

My Project Today using Mini 3D Vignette Garden Gate.

I used soft pastel colours for my vignette, adding some flowers and branches to the sides as well, to make the most of the 3D aspect.

I layered the front gate and back trellis arch onto a blue card to add more colour and dimension.

I love all the intricate little details which have been incorporated in this die set, i.e. the cute little hinges, gate lock and the grassy die too.

Layering my little flowers really made them stand out.

I do love using these dies as they were intended, to create a vignette, but they are also great for using to create standard greetings cards.   I used the gate die for the card below, snipping my die-cut in the centre so that the gate opens to reveal a pretty floral scene.

Designer Tip:  Don't make the mistake that I did with the vignette.   I absent mindedly glued my vignette sides to both the front and back before slotting the three extra gate pieces into the sides, which resulted in my having to start the project for a second time.  Doh!  I won't be making that mistake again ................!

Deco Bloom Etched Dies from the Stained Glass Bouquet Collection by Becca Feeken

Hello folks and welcome to today's post.

I have been working my way through the fabulous new Amazing Paper Grace Stained Glass Bouquet collection which were kindly sent to me by Becca Feeken, the designer of the collection, and today I am showcasing the lovely Deco Bloom Etched Dies.

I wanted to use a dramatic colour palette and this combination of black and coral works beautifully to show off the beautiful intricate panels that are included in this set.   There are some other useful little motifs which I have not used for my card but are shown in the illustration below-

Click illustration for full details

These dies are perfect for creating backgrounds for cards and also for adding to 3D projects such as boxes, so I hope to be sharing a few more ideas with you for that.

The sentiment that I have used comes from the Picture Perfect Window Scene Etched Dies from the Make a Scene Collection designed by Becca.

I really enjoyed putting this card togeter and it is going to be going out in the post to one of my lovely crafty friends.

I do hope you like it.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and I hope you will pop back for a return visit.

Bye for now.    Enjoy your Sunday and ..............................."happy crafting everybody!"
