Add to Cart - Have You Seen This Super Cute new Collection from Spellbinders?

Hi folks.

Today I have some super cute cards which I hope will appeal to all you super shoppers and party people!
The Add to Cart collection has been designed by the lovely Becky Roberts and really is great fun to create with.

This card was made using the 3D Shopping Cart Etched Dies.   I also used the sweet new Shopping Cart Party On etched dies.   Can you spot the cute new Shopping Bags etched dies too.  I really love how these three sets from the new collection can be combined to create such a fun card.

I did add a mirror on the back wall using my Double Mirror Halo Dies for a little subtle artistic detail.

I even threw in some foiling on the shopping bags with the Diamonetta Backgound Glimmer Hot Foil Plate.

Also available in this collection is a great little stamp set called the Shopping Bag Sentiments Clear Stamp Set, which I have also used.    So, you can see that I really did go to town on this little card, using a bit of this and a bit of that.  It was a great creative release.

I have two more cards to share which I made using dies from this collection.

I

I've not made a shaker card in a while, so I thought I would have a go at one and really love how the cheery, colourful card below came together, to create a card for someone with something to celebrate.

I hope you find this fabulous fun new Add to Cart collection as inspiring as I have.   I would like to thank Spellbinders for sending me the products to create some fun samples to share with you.

Thanks for joining me here today, and please come back as I have lots more to share creatively with you here on my blog.

Take care peeps.  Bye for now and ............................."happy crafting everybody!"

The Amazing Grace New Holiday Collection

Hello everybody.

I was very delighted to be invited to be a Guest Designer on a recent Spellbinders Blog Post and today I am going to share the projects from that post with you.

I am showcasing some products from the fabulous new Holiday Medley Collection by Becca Feeken.  I have three Christmas projects to share with you today and I do hope you like them.

Christmas is the ideal occasion for throwing dinner parties with stunning table displays, and I thought it would be fun to create a personalised guest place setting card.  I thought that the gorgeous Pinstripe BracketCard Builder Hot Foil Plate was just perfect for this.  It also occurred to me that this idea would be brilliant for wedding parties.

My place setting card base is 5-3/4” x 7” inches and is scored at 3-1/2” inches on the long side.   I foiled the large hot foil plate in gold glimmer foil onto a pearlescent blue piece of card and then die cut it with dies from the new co-ordinating Mosaic Bracket Card Builder Etched Dies set.  I trimmed the finished foiled image.  I popped on a decorative satin bow and then adhered the piece to the card base with adhesive backed foam squares.  I used my Spellbinders Etched Alphabet dies for my guest’s name, using the pearlescent blue and some gold mirror card, offsetting the letters for greater dimension.

I completed the place setting by adding a pretty snowflake and pearl embellishment.  The snowflake is from the new CelebrateScrollwork Card Builder.

It’s always nice to send your guests home with a little chocolate treat, so I made a simple little treat box.  I foiled the Pinstripe Bracket Card Builder Hot Foil Plate onto pearlescent blue card.  Then I trimmed this down to 1-5/8” x 4-1/4” inches.

Score @ 1”,2”, 3” & 4” inches on the long side.

Score @ 5/8” on the short side.

Now snip up the base vertical score lines up to the 5/8” horizontal score line and snip away the area hatched and highlighted in pink.  Add double-sided tape to the small side strip and assemble the simple box base.   I popped mine onto a small decorative square base.  For this I used the smallest square die from my Christmas Cascade Card Base Etched Dies.

My next project is a cute white and blue Christmas card with silver mirror card accents.  This was made using the Mosaic Bracket CardBuilder Etched Dies.  I love the word dies and really like that they have co-ordinating shadow dies to really make the words pop.  Mine were cut in white and silver mirror card. I offset the white Happy Holiday word dies over the silver before mounting on the white word shadows.

I used the same offsetting technique for the intricate lattice base.  I thought the dotty blue background paper resembled snow and added a large blingy snowflake.  This snowflake is from the Snowflake Splendor Etched Dies.

Next up, I have a pretty Christmas Box project.   This was made using the All is Calm Word Frame Etched Dies.

For this box you need a piece of cardstock measuring 11-1/2” x 7-5/8” inches

Long side score@ 2-3/4”, 5-1/2”, 8-1/4” and 11”

Short side score @ 1-1/2”, 4-1/4” and 7”

Next cut away the sections shaded with orange highlighter in the illustration below.

Snip up the bottom vertical score lines and applied double back adhesive tape to the narrow side strip shaded with orange highlighter in the illustration below.

Assemble box which will look like the illustration below.

Die-cut two scallop edged squares, 5 intricate squares and one word sentiment.  Adhere the scallop edged squares to the top and bottom of the box.  Adhere the intricate squares to the sides and top.  Adhere your word die to the inside of the lid.

When making this box, I thought that the recipient would get a nice surprise upon opening it, to see the sentiment on the inside of the lid.

Well, that’s it from me for today.  I would like to thank you for stopping by.   Pop back soon for more inspiration and new products from Spellbinders.   You can also catch up with me on  InstagramFacebook and YouTube

Bye for now,

Spellbinders Holiday Inspiration Blog Hop and Giveaway !

Hello and thank you for joining me here today for the Spellbinders Holiday Inspiration Blog Hop.

I was privileged to be invited by Spellbinders to participate in this blog hop which features inspiration globally from some fantastic members of the papercrating community.  The Hop focuses on the Holiday 21 Collections from Spellbinders and features:-
  • Be Merry
  • Christmas Slimline
  • Open House
  • Tis the Season
  • Trim the Tree

  • Halloween 2021
  • Add to Cart by Becky Roberts
  • Happy Harvest by Nichol Spohr
  • Holiday Flora by Susan Tierney-Cockburn
  • Holiday Medley by Becca Feeken
  • All Aboard Limited Edition Card Kit.
I have three projects to share with you which I created using dies from the Amazing Paper Grace Holiday Medley Collection.

First up is this slimline Christmas Card in a non-traditional colour combination of dark smokey grey and baby pink with gold and pearly accents.  For this I used the Merry Filigee Card Builder Etched Dies  SKU S5-464.  I love how the Christmas sentiment is incorporated within the intricate circular die.  This is something that features a lot in the Holiday Medley collection.

Here is a close up of the sentiment:-

Next up I have an A5 horizonal Christmas card and for this I used the Joy Crescent Card Builder Etched Dies.

I added pearl accents, a satin bow and some handcrafted poinsettia flowers which I created using Cinch and Go Poinsettia dies, together with some gold fir sprigs from the Amazing Paper Grace November 20 Die of the Month Set called the Pop Up 3D Vignette Poinsettia Sleigh.

The large backgound die which frames my card is from the Scallop Facade Frame Etched Dies set.

For my final project I decided to make a super easy little Christmas Angel.  This could be used to decorate cards, boxes and bags and, of course, Chistmas Trees.

The intricate wings were made using the Joy Crescent Card Building Etched Dies.  My angel is double sided, so it looks just as nice from behind as it does at the front.

I do have a video demonstration coming up tomorrow on my YouTube channel which shows you how to put one together.

Well I do hope you like my ideas for using dies from the Holiday Medley Collection.  You arrived via the lovely Jenny Colacicco's blog.  The next stop on the hop is Rosemary Dennis who has more inspiration for you using a selection of goodies from Spellbinders Holiday 2021 products.

Mixed Media Card - Mintay Papers and Spellbinders Falling Leaves Embossing Folder

Hi folks

On Saturday I shared a post to showcase the pretty new Falling Leaves Embossing Folder from Spellbinders, which is part of their new Falls Traditions Collection.

Well I have used the same embossing folder for today's mixed media card.  For this I also used the Birdsong 6 x 6 scrapbooking paper pad from Mintay Papers.  I love the papers and have used them for lots of projects.

I used the debossed side of my cardstock for this card and cut my decorative paper on the diagonal and layered this across the top, adding some rustic twine to give more texture.

The sentiment is from the Hot off the Press Swirls Chipboard Set.  I have had the wooden frame and metal butterfly charm in my craft stash for quite some time, but am unable to recall the brands.

I added a couple of butterflies which I cut from my paper pad and embellished these with little adhesive backed flat pearls.

I love this card and all the different textures on it.  It strikes me that it would a lovely card for someone who is visually impaired.

I hope you like it to.

Thanks for stopping by.  I really appreciate it would love for you to make a return visit.

Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting everybody!"

New from Spellbinders - Fall Traditions Collection

The new Fall Traditions Collection has launched over on the Spellbinders website and is a delightful collection of autumnal dies, together with the fabulous embossing folder which I have used for my project today.

This is a card I made using the new Falling Leaves Embossing Folder, which embosses a collecton of falling leaves.  I think it makes for a useful and pretty background.   The folder measures approximately 4.25 x 5.50 in/10.80 x 13.97 cm, perfect for an A2 sized card.   I have used it here on a 5 x 7 inch card front and teamed it with a pretty floral background paper.

I also used the new Mini Fall Blooms Etched Dies which are from the same collection, to embellish my oval topper.  I foiled the sentiment using the More Sentiments Glimmer Plate set.

Spellbinders kindly sent me the products I have used today in order to share design ideas, and I do hope you like today's card project.

Thank you for stopping by and I would love you to make a return visit.

Queen Anemone Stamps and Dies from Altenew - You Rock! Card

Hi everyone.

Today I am sharing another card which I designed using my newest Altenew addition, the Queen Anemone stamp and coordinating dies from Altenew.

My card a a 5x5 inch card base with layers in white and black, which is very striking.

I stamped the layering flowers in a palette of soft pink Altenew Crisp Dye Inks and coloured the leaves with some Altenew Artist Marker Pens.

For the white top panel which I cut on the diagonal, I splattered some rich gold alcohol ink with a fine paint brush.  When this had set I added the die cut sentiment which I created using both the Tall Alpha and Tall Alpha Lower Case alphabet die sets.  I die-cut a set of letters twice in pink and black and then offset the top black layer over the pink to create a pink shadow.

The links I have provided are for shops in the USA, but I have sourced all of my products from shops here in the UK.   Bumbleberrys and Seven Hills Crafts have a great supply of the latest American card making supplies.   Neither of these are affiliated links.

I love how this card turned out.  Hope you like it too.

Thanks for looking.

Stay safe peeps.  Bye for now and ........................"happy crafting!"

Bold and Beautiful Flowers - A Slimline Card using supplies from Altenew, Amazing Paper Grace and Gina K Designs

The weather is pretty up and down and the moment and I really wanted to create something bright and cheery.

So this pretty slimline card is the result of a little time tucked away in my craft space.  It did the job - it really cheered me up.

I love how the colour palette works - a bold summery mix of pinks, lilacs and green.

Some cards I find I have to really work at and some just come together nice and easily.  This one falls into the second category.  I used an assortment of products from some of my favourite brands.

The Queen Anemone Stamp and Die bundle from Altenew is one of my most recent purchases and I love how each card I have made with it looks so different.

I used my new Hugs die and Hugs stamp set from Gina K Design for the sentiment.

So there you have it, my recipe for a pretty bright and colourful slimline card.   Oh, and by the way, I used an assortment of Altenew Crisp Dye Inks.

The links I have provided are for shops in the USA, but I have sourced all of my products from shops here in the UK.   Bumbleberrys and Seven Hills Crafts have a great supply of the latest American card making supplies.   Neither of these are affiliated links.

The Amazing Paper Grace Hemstitch Slimline dies were kindly sent to me by Becca Feeken for design team purposes.

Hope you likey.   Thanks for taking the time out to visit today.

Bye for now and ..................."happy crafting everybody!"

Music Themed Birthday Card

Another month - another birthday !

My lovely son celebrated his birthday on Monday and horror of horrors - I nearly forgot to make him a card !!!! There I was cooking his favourite lasagne and chocolate brownies for a birthday dinner, when it slowly dawned on me that I hadn't made him a birthday card.  So quickly removing my apron, I darted up to the craft room and pondered over various ideas.

My boy is quite musical, having fronted a local band.  He likes to sing and plays the guitar, so I dug out some of my Paper Discovery dies from the Lost in Music Collection, opting for the String Ensemble and The Jazz Band Die Sets.

I thought it would be fun to add some strings to the guitar and used some fine metallic thread.

I used musical themed paper for the background, which is from the First Edition Perfect Moments 12 x 12 inch paper pad.

For the sentiment I used the Altenew Tall Alpha Stamp and Die sets.   I love the Altenew Tall Alpha collection.  I have the lower case sets too.  This is because as they are very slender, you can create long words in a limited space, which is not possible when using wide letter dies.  This is a 6 x 6 inch square card. I am happy with how it turned out, and Tom is very pleased with it.

Hope you like it.

Bye for now and ...................."happy crafting everybody!"

A Victorian Christmas in August ! Who Has Started Their Christmas Crafting?

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog today.

Today I am sharing a slimline Christmas Card and matching envelope.

I was kindly sent the pretty papers by CraftStash when I was on their Design Team last year.  I used the "A Luxury Victorian Christmas" 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 inch paper pads which have a very traditional Christmas theme and colour pallette.

I do love a slimline card and it was a great opportunity to use my Hemstitch Slimline Etched Dies by Amazing Paper Grace.   I love the punched holes created with the dies; backed with gold foil card, the foil sparkles through subtly and elegantly, enhancing the christmas papers.

The focal point was made using the Amazing Paper Grace Double Halo Oval dies in conjunction with my Amazing Paper Grace Filigree Glimmer Wreaths Glimmer Hotfoil Plate to add the foiled Chistmas Sentiment.

I really do love to coordinate cards with envelopes, so I used my 12 x 12 paperpad  to create the matching slimline envelope.   I found a great video tutorial on Youtube by Jenny Card Designs which gives you the measurements and a step by step demonstration on how to put it together.

I am really pleased with this card and will be sharing some other ideas for using these papers in the run up to Christmas.

Hope you like it.

Bye for now and ......................."happy crafting everybody"!

Video Demonstration - Using Layering Dies to Create Pretty Intricate Toppers

Hi everyone

A couple of weeks ago I shared this card here on my Blog and on some other social media platforms.

I thought I would do a quick video demonstrating how quick and easy it was to put together, and here it is:-

I didn't have a pretty and intricate heart die among my stash at the time (I do now !), so I created my own using my layering heart dies and a gorgeous intricate Sizzix die.

This may be more of interest to those beginning their cardmaking journey and getting to grips with different techniques and ideas for using their dies.

Hope you enjoy it.

Stay safe peeps and ..........................."happy crafting everybody!"

Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month - Lattice Petal Foldover

Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my blog today.

Today I am showcasing the Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the month which is the Lattice Petal Foldover set, designed by Becca Feeken.

I have two projects to share with you today, the first being this greetings card, which is a Get Well Card.  For my card I opted for a soft blue and gold colour combination on a white background.

There is an option to use the square inticate die and and its outline die for the centre,.  However, I decided to create a circular centre piece by using two of the semi-circle dies to form one full intricate circle, within a square.  Those pretty semi-circles are nice and versatile.

There is a rolled flower die in the set.  I made just the one rolled rose to add to the centre of my ribbon bow and added some little leaves, using the leafy die from the set.   In all, there are 14 cutting dies included in the set.

I added a tag, made with an old punch, and edged it with pale blue rick rack ribbon I heat embossed the sentiment in gold.  The sentiment is from the Make a Scene Sentiments photopolymer stamp set.

For my next project, I made a cute little treat holder.  This was really quick and simple to make. First I die-cut the outer intricate panel, and die cut a plain panel for the inside of the treat holder.  For both pieces, I scored the embossed lines which form the square around the centre on my scoring board, and the burnished all the straight score lines before adhering the two pieces together.  I lined the centre of the inside of my treat older with the intricate square dies included in the set.

It is worth noting, that when the box/treat holder is formed, I found that I did need to carefully trim away some overhanging inner white card stock when folding up the sides.

I made four hinges with the smallest die in the set, and these hold the treat holder together. Then in went my choccie treats.

The current Amazing Paper Grace August Die of the Month set is limited to the month of August only.

If you would like to find out more about the Amazing Paper Grace Die of the Month Club, click here.  Spellbinders also run several value club options, which are available to those wishing to join several clubs at once.  To find out more, click here

  • Skipping is no longer an option. People may cancel their subscription and rejoin at any time.
  • Spellbinders now accept PayPal on club subscriptions.
  • People may no longer change their subscription date. The first subscription charge will happen within 5 days from their sign-up date and the subsequent charges will recur on the 5th of each month.
  • There is now a black-out window (approximately 6 days before the 1st of the month). This means people won’t be able to join the Club during the blackout window. People can join anytime from the 1st of the month until the blackout window.
August 24th will be the last day to join in August.

Well, that's it from me for today.  I really did enjoy coming up with these two ideas and I do hope you like them.

Thanks for looking.  Bye for now.
